J1 2016 / J120H ROOTING TUTORIAL

REQUIREMENTS: (MUST HAVE)
Hardwares
Samsung J1 2016 / SM-J120H
Android 5.1.1
USB cable
PC/LAPTOP
Softwares
Samsung Drivers
ODIN
TWRP RECOVERY
SUPERSU
Stock Rom (Incase you FAIL. )
THIS IS A 2 PART TUTORIAL
1. Installing TWRP Recovery
2. Rooting
************************* TAKE NOTE *************************
You must first enable OEM UNLOCKING in Developers Options
Follow this tutorial by ps2332
START
Installing TWRP Recovery
1. Install Samsung Drivers
2. Open ODIN (Run as Admininstrator)
Click AP then select TWRP RECOVERY
Click Options then UNCHECK Auto Reboot
3. Put phone in Odin mode by HOLDING Volume down + Home key + Power key
4. There will be a warning, press Volume up to continue
5. Plug-in your phone into your pc/laptop using usb cable
Wait for the phone drivers to install
6. Check the status if connected. See the attachment below
7. Click START to start flashing
8. After flashing, there will be a green box that says PASS (it will be pretty obvious)
9. Remove the usb cable. DO NOT TURN OFF THE PHONE
10. Reinsert the battery of the phone to turn off the device
You should not turn off the device using the Power Key
11. Turn on the phone
ROOTING
1. Plug the phone to your pc/laptop using usb cable
2. Copy the SUPERSU to your Phone Memory
3. Turn off your phone
4. Boot to recovery by HOLDING Volume Up+ Home key + Power key
5. You are now in the TWRP Recovery
Swipe to the right to continue
6. Click Install
7. Select the SUPERSU that you copied
8. Swipe to confirm Flash
9. Click Wipe cache/dalvik
Then Swipe to Wipe
10. Click Reboot System
First Boot will take time
CONGRATULATION!!! You are now Rooted

NOTICE!!!
If you accidentally bricked your phone do not worry. You can still fix it
Download your Stock Rom.
Make sure you select the firmware with the "Philippines".
Flash it using Odin (follow the instructions for installing TWRP but select the stock rom you downloaded instead).
TWRP can't restore backups. If you happen to backup your rom using TWRP it will not work when you restore it.
