[ADVISE] Help in Assembling/Building/Choosing/Upgrading Your Computer

Hi guys,

I started this thread to help everyone wanting a new computer. All you need to do is post the following:

budget:
usage:

other miscellaneous requirements:

*If to be used for gaming,. please indicate the games you wish to play.


The prices i will be using are those that come from major shops in gilmore and also PCexpress and others... The prices will only reflect that of which on the date of my post.


also please put your requests in this format:

How to get to Gilmore:
commuting... From EDSA get on the MRT to Cubao and take the other train and get off at Gilmore station. so easy.
driving... Via aurora is the easiest way from EDSA. anyway, just ask na lang cos i dunno where you'll be coming from.

Hi. Please help me buy a computer for my son. He will be using it mainly for school and some games. He likes to play Dota and L4D. Our budget for the PC would be 20K. We already have a printer, monitor and speakers. Our monitor is a 17" CRT monitor. My son said he prefers 1gb video card.

Crossfire = dalawang ATI Video Cards ang gagamitin mo sa isang rig. Pag dalawang Nvidia Video Cards naman eh SLI ang tawag dun.

GPU = Graphics Processing Unit. More commonly known as Video Card

APU = Accelerated Processing Unit. Tulad ng gamit nyo, yan po ung mga processor na gawa ng Radeon na may accelerated capabilities in short mas better ang integrated GPU nya kesa sa regular CPU's. Tulad ng A4, A6, at A8

Discreet GPU = not built in or separated, un ung mga aftermarket na binibili / hindi built in sa unit. Like Nvidia GTX 560, HD 7750, etc.

Pag built-in naman ang tawag dun eh Integrated GPU.

... Ang AMD A8-3870k - tawag dyan APU . May built in video card yan na HD 6550 D . Then yong discreet GPU - ito yong hiwalay na video card . Pag ang discreet GPU mo ay HD 6670 , pwede ito crossfire sa built in video card ng AMD A8-3870k. That means pagsasamahin mo ang dalawang video na yan para lalong maganda performance...

akala ko kasi dati crossfire eh yung games... ...
pag ipunan na para mabuo ko yang nasa list ko...

medyo nag self study lang po ako kaya naisipan kong mag tanong...

Sir, ung mobo nyo eh capable of supporting AM3+ and FX-series processors naman po bsta iupdate nyo lang ang bios. So pwede po kayo mag AMD Athlon II X3 455 3.2ghz. Pangit kasi reviews ng Bulldozer series kaya hindi ko xa nirerecommend :P Kung gusto nyo naman po mag Phenom, tanong nalng po kayo sa mga masters natin dito, hindi po kasi ako ganun ka knowledgable pagdating sa AMD, Intel kasi setup ko :P



oo naman po, working pa rin.. Kung may plano naman pala kayo mag i7, edi go for 7950 nalang po

... Sir just like dun sa una kong message sayo , go for HD 7950 .. and if you like PHENOM II x4 mas ok ito kaysa sa FX series AMD . Kung mag i7 ka naman , mas ok din ang HD 7950...

... Sir yong mobo na yan , hindi maganda ang reviews . If you have time , read on it . I suggest you find other mobos with better reviews and performance ...

Boss ArchVince pwde po ba pahingi ng intel build intended for gaming po, mga 15-17k po budget ko,,medyo naguluhan na kasi ako sa AMD cpu, more on gaming yung setup na gusko ko sa comp pero capable din of multitasking,,yung magandang combination po ng cpu at gpu na kaya po sa dx11 games,,

Wag ka na mag Trinity kung sa simula pa lang kakabitan mo na ng GPU. Mag Ivy Bridge ka na plus discrete GPU kung gaming ang priority.

Mas maganda po ung option 1. Ang Llano kasi is more for gaming. Pero AFAIK, kahit sa gaming mas maganda pa rin ang i3-2100. Isa pa, as you said, kung multi tasking, mas lamang ang i3 kasi may Hyper Threading xa, so kahit dual core lang xa, it actually acts like a quad core. Even I myself, use the i3-2100. Mas maganda din ang mobo ng option 1. ASUS > Emaxx. Ang top manufacturers kasi ng MOBOs eh ASUS, Gigabyte, at Asrock. And FYI po, branded din ang Kingston na RAMs. And most importantly, madali lang naman iupgrade ang RAM lalo na't DDR3 xa, di hamak na mas mura kesa sa mga DDR2 RAMs.

P.S.
Kung gusto mo maglaro ng NBA2k13, kailangan mo ng dedicated video card. Hindi sapat ang onboard lang. :P

wow! thanks sir ArchVince your advice really helps. Actually, ung i3 talaga ung type ko pero may nabasa akong mga thread dito na A4 daw is better that i3 kaya nagdalawang isip pa ako. Thanks again sir.

... If you like multi tasking , better go for a quad core processor , like AMD A8-3870k with ASUS mobo . Yong procei na yan with built in GPU na HD 6550 D , kaya ok na sya kahit wala ka discreet GPU...

wala akong masyadong alam about computer!! kaya dito na lang ako mag babase sa thread mo ts!!

balak ko kasing mag bumili ng pc!! gusto ko malaman ang budget...
mas preferred ko para sa gaming kaya expected ko na medyo malaking budget ang kailangan!!
ito nga pala ung games na gusto kung malaro at least nka highsetting!!

Wag ka na mag Trinity kung sa simula pa lang kakabitan mo na ng GPU. Mag Ivy Bridge ka na plus discrete GPU kung gaming ang priority.

so mas maganda po ang ivy bridge na? kasi andami ko pong nakikitang mga videos na kapag AMD super smooth parati ng mga games di kagaya sa Ivy bridge. kung kayo ang papapiliin ano ang mas kukunin nyo?
