Hi guys,

I started this thread to help everyone wanting a new computer. All you need to do is post the following:
Code:
budget:
usage:

other miscellaneous requirements:

*If to be used for gaming,. please indicate the games you wish to play.

The prices i will be using are those that come from major shops in gilmore and also PCexpress and others... The prices will only reflect that of which on the date of my post.

also please put your requests in this format:

Processor:
Motherboard:
RAM:

Video Card:

Hard Drive:
Optical Drive:

Power Supply:
Casing:

monitor:

Accessories:

please indicate (at least)the size of the hard disk desired, and also what you need/have/prefer.

Thanks.

How to get to Gilmore:
commuting... From EDSA get on the MRT to Cubao and take the other train and get off at Gilmore station. so easy.
driving... Via aurora is the easiest way from EDSA. anyway, just ask na lang cos i dunno where you'll be coming from.

An example post would be as follows:
Hi. Please help me buy a computer for my son. He will be using it mainly for school and some games. He likes to play Dota and L4D. Our budget for the PC would be 20K. We already have a printer, monitor and speakers. Our monitor is a 17" CRT monitor. My son said he prefers 1gb video card.

Thank you.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

designing?

4k-5k lang ang buget ko...

thanks

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

eto yung sakin ngaun,

MOBO: ECS K7S5A
PROCESSOR: AMD 1.1 Ghz
VC: Gforce 64MB :slap:
MEMORY: 512 MB DDR1

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

ibig sabihin luma na talaga MoBo ko? kasya ba 6k for whole system unit upgrade?

System unit upgrade... hmm...

Eto kasi madalas na range ng parts:

Mobo: 2300 ~ 3500
Processor: Single Core: 3000~4000 Dual: 4000 ~ 5000 Quad and up: 6000+
Video card: Low-end: 1000~2500 Midrange: 3000~5000 High-end: 5000+

1. If you're gonna upgrade a mother board, you'll need to change the following:

a. Processor
b. RAM

2. If processor ang gusto mo palitan magpapalit ka din ng mobo which leads back to number 1.

3. If video card gusto mo palitan... pag di compatible mobo mo, palita ka din motherboard, back to 1 ulit.

So... your choice po...

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

procie ko
intel core 2 duo E6420

mobo at vcard lang talaga plan kong palitan...

need pa ba na pati procie bossing?

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

anu exact model ng motherboard mo?

Sorry, lahat kasi ng binibigay ko is either mid range with very low price or high end... kasi bakit ka pa bibili ng low-end? pag low-end magpapalit ka ng magpapalit... masmagastos... kung isang bilihan ng high-end, set ka for 3 years.

Video card and RAM for 1,600??? omg... good luck... 9400GT is the minimum... around 1400 ang brand new.

Your processor and ram are compatible, video card also... I have a pc currently running Windows 7, (actually 2 pcs...)

First PC: (low end)
Processor: Pentium D 3.0 Ghz
Mobo: ECS 945GCT (not sure, pero ECS)
RAM: 1.5Gb RAM
HD: 80GB seagate
ODD: 22x LG DVD-RW
PSU: Rise 500w true rated (daw)
Gfx Card: 7200GS

Second PC: (mid range)
Processor: E7300 C2D 2.66Ghz @ 3.25Ghz
Mobo: Foxconn P35AS-X
RAM: 2GB DDR2 800mhz
HD: 320GB seagate + 80GB seagate IDE
ODD: none
PSU: Generic 600w
Gfx Card: 9600GT

so... if your specs are higher than that... ok na din. =)

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

I was also in the hunt for a new gaming unit and here's what I came up with after a lot of research:

*AMD Athlon II X4 620 2.6GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core P11,850.00 (Bundle)

Specifications
Motherboard: GE-Force Nvidia Series - Emaxx/Red fox GF 6100
Video: On Board Graphic Max. Memory Share Up to 512MB(Under OS By Turbo Cache) even if you share 128MB only from bios (w/ PCIe slot available)
Memory: 1GB DDR2 800
Hardisk: 320Gig Western Digital SATA 7200
Monitor: NONE (see options below)
Casing: ATX Casing 500W PSU w/ Transparent Side Panel & Fan
Freebies:
Keyboard:PS2
Mouse: PS2
Headset: MIC in wire / or Speaker

And upgraded to these options:

Motherboard
Upgrade to Emaxx EMX-AMD785G-FXN
Video:
* ATI Radeon HD 4200 Graphics,
* UVD 2.0,
* DirectX 10.1 Ready
w/ Memory: 2 GB DDR3 1333 Geil - w/ heatspreader
all for P3,450.00

Monitor/LCD
18.5 Chimei CMV-95QD Widescreen P5,750

Keyboards/Mouse
upgrade to A4-Tech - HID PS2 keyboard and A4tech - HID 2x Click Optical Mouse just add P300.00

Optical/Floppy Drives
Pioneer 22x DVDRW SATA P1,350.00

Video Card PCIe
INNO/PALIT/Redfox/Sparkle/HIS 1GB GT240 DDR3 P4,600

Total: P 27,300

You can popin another 2GB DDR3 for P2,400 for a total of P29,700

I hope this helps those wanting to upgrade. This setup works just fine for me. I'm all for playability and not so for graphics. My games (WoW / Rohan) runs wonderful on this machine. I even tried a few other games, and no lag at all.

Peace!

YOU CAN ONLY BUY THIS" di ba?

Kung simple lang gagawin ninyo, 10k is enough para makakuha ng decent na system unit that will last you a good 2 years or more. Especially kung internet and office lang ginagawa mo.

Bro, wag na yan... Hanap ka na lang ng board na may SLI/Crossfire support... para in the long run puwede ka mag upgrade...

INNO/PALIT/Redfox/Sparkle/HIS 1GB GT240 DDR3 P4,600 <--- umm... puwede ung GTS250 na lang ang bilin ng iba or 9800GT... sayang video card... 500 pesos more would get you a very very big upgrade.

=) Hahaha! Price lang masakit sa bulsa.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

I suggested you to read the past posts... Etong quote ko sa baba, check mo... Ibahin mo ung processor, get a C2Duo lang, kahit E7500 - around 5k so subtract 2500 from the price

Then Change the Video Card to GTX280, 285 or 290, don't know which one though, iba2 prices niyan... - add 5k ~ 10k sa mga cards na yan...

This one posted by genocide is the first one I found reviewing the past posts... sana naman lahat ng titingin dito hindi lang tanung ng tanung... T_T sayang oras pang type...

Anyway... Eto ung pinaka mura:

MSI G31TM-P31 - 2350 (Discounted PCX price)

Bibilan mo yan ng ram kung wala kang 667mhz or 800mhz na ram... so thats an additional 1k so 3350... meron pang 1700?

Get a 9400GT - nasa 1400 ~ 1600 higher than that is OP na ngayun...

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

Hi Deil and Everyone!

Here's another setup I'm getting for my GF next week. It's like my first post but this one is ALL AMD All the way! Hope this helps everyone with their budget without sacrificing quality!

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 620 2.6GHz 4x512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core
Motherboard: EMAXX EMX-AMD785G-FXN
Video: ATI Radeon HD4670 1G DDR3 128 BIT
RAM: 2 GB DDR3 1333 Geil w/ Heatspreader
HDD: 320Gig Western Digital SATA 7200
ODD: Pioneer 22X DVDRW SATA
Monitor: 18.5 Chimei CMV-95QD Widescreen
Casing: ATX Casing 500W PSU w/ Transparent Side Panel & Fan
Accessories: A4-Tech HID PS2 Keyboard and A4-Tech HID 2X Click Optical Mouse
Freebies: Internet Headset w/ Mic
Upgrades: Gigabyte XPOWER HSF – CPU Cooler (GH-PSU11-PD)
Speakers: Basic 2.1 Speakers

Package Price: PhP 28,000

I went for the Radeon Series mainly because this is an “ALL AMD Architecture” Setup. As everyone knows, ATI and AMD had merge, and it just makes sense to go Radeon rather than NVIDIA. But, please, that’s just my own personal opinion. But I'm confident Deil will agree with me that this is a very good way to spend 28K.:clap: Peace!

What do you mean by "ALL AMD Architecture"? :help:

boss what do you mean by ALL AMD Architecture? :help:

Hi XTian,

What I meant if you look carefully at the specifications. From CPU, to Motherboard Chipset, down to the Video Card (ATI which is now merged with AMD) has AMD written all over it. :salute::yipee:

I have nothing against using an NVIDIA Card with an AMD CPU and MOBO. But, I would always think you'd want an NVIDIA Card with an INTEL based Chipset (CPU and MOBO) rather than using an NVIDIA Card with an AMD based setup.

Why so? Heat issues. The Radeon Series are so far cooler than the NVIDIA. So naturally you would want a "cooler" video card to run with AMD since the CPU runs a bit warmer than Intel. And it goes, vice-versa, you can afford an NVIDIA card (which is hotter than Radeon) with Intel because Intel is a bit cooler than AMD.

But please sir, you can use whatever preference you would like. This is my own personal opinion and so far had worked for me all these years.

The purpose of my post, is to help those who wants a very good setup (speed and quality) for under 30K. :excited: Peace!

Questions:

Will the 4670 run on a generic 500W PSU?

I'm not really into graphics, so I'm willing to settle with a lower model. How does the HD3800 or HD4200 sound? Or maybe even just use the integrated chipset since the mobo is a 785G?

With the possible savings in VC costs, I'm planning to go increase my HDD space into 640GB, and up the RAM to 4GB. So all in all, magkano price difference with everything else in the setup untouched?
