kakaibang distro mga binabanggit nyo boss hehehehe.. nag rerely lang kasi ako sa distrowatch yung mga TOP ika nga pero gusto ko ring e try yung hindi well-known kaso kakapagod din mag distro hop. nag try ako ngayon ng OpenSuse kaso yung H.264 codec hirap hanapin parang hindi fully supported sa official repo.. Arch, Debian at Fedora lang talaga para sakin malaking EW kay Ubuntu hehehe.. PEACE!

Una sa lahat linawin ko lang bossing, FreeBSD is NOT a Linux Distro. It's not even Linux.
By the way when I first used Linux in 1996 and I read in a magazine (wala pang youtube at google nun) about Richard Stallman saying "GNU/Linux is based on UNIX - but it's not UNIX." Sobrang excited ako nun na makatry o makagamit ng pure UNIX unfortunately when I did, sa installation process pa lang na overwhelmed nako. Sobrang iba yung installation process nun kesa ngayon. So nagstick muna ako sa Debian until mga year 2000. Then I tried other "pure" Linux (ilan pa lang mga distro nun) tulad ng Gentoo na kakalabas pa lang nun, then other variant din na di ko na mabilang. Naging Ubuntu user, contributor and distributor din ako for almost 3 years around 2007. They used to send me 30 CDs every month to give away sa mga tao hahah until Canonical became greedy so I quit. Now Ubuntu looks good on the outside, but on the inside... nevermind. Don't qoute me on that
Now I'm using FreeBSD which is the closest thing to the actual UNIX at nalampasan nya expectations ko. For me, after trying a ton of Linux distro for more than a decade prior, I can say FreeBSD is way better. I know it's not for everyone but it suits well with my preference.It's not perfect but with it I have more control than ever. Right now I can say I'm a 95% FreeBSD user and 5% Linux user and Arch will always be my number 1 favorite - until systemd came in and it sucks.

Naku, kung tulad lang nung early 2000s, baka nagdidistro hopping pa rin ako ngayon. Lumulubo na mga size ng distro ngayon. Di tulad dati CD lang. May sobra pa sa ibang mga lightweight distros. Naalala ko tuloy DSL (DamnSmallLinux). Sa size na 50MB kumpleto na. Wala na nga lang update sa ngayon. Bale tatay to ng TinyCore ngayon.
Ubuntu alone o yung default nya ay di ko rin gusto. Actually, may collection ako ng original CDs from 5.x to 9.x via ShipIt nun. May Ubuntu, Edubuntu, Kubuntu at may Xubuntu pa nga ata yun. Wala pang Lubuntu at ibang flavors like ginagamit kong Budgie. Never kong ininstall mga 'to for may desktop except Budgie flavor. Out of curiosity sa desktop environment na Budgie, sinubukan ko at nagustuhan ko. At hindi ko na nga pinalitan. Also, maybe because of being a debian based distro at userbase nya. The reason also why I chose ubuntu based Puppy (XenialPup64) over slacko. Another one, sa Top 10 ng distrowatch may mga Ubuntu based like Mint, Elementary, Zorin and Pop!. Pabor sa akin dahil madali ako makakuha ng app para/package sa ginagamit kong MicroCore/Tinycore pag nag eexplore ako.
Try mo Ubuntu or its derivatives, madali makakuha ng package at sagot sa tanong

Na weirduhan din ako sa installation via network. Dinemo lang sa amin nung nagwowork pa ako sa learning center bilang lab facilitator. Nagamit ko lang Linux para magconnect sa Internet then telnet at ftp manually. Proxy server gamit nya. Around 1998 o late 90s na. Kaya natanim sa isip ko nun, mahirap gamitin ang Linux pati installation. Around 2004 nabago 'to, nang nagpakita ng isang linux distro klasmeyt ko sa masters. Dun ako nagstart mag distro hopping. At sa DamnSmallLinux ako unang natuto.

Bakit? Due to the open-source aspect of these linux distros, may mga ibang OPPORTUNISTS na MINOMODIFY YUNG OS AT NAGLALAGAY NG BITCOIN MINER AND OTHER MALICIOUS SOFTWARE/CODE.
