For Puppy Linux, not exactly... Now, it has 3 major puplets (variants), Precise, Slacko and Wary/Racy. Precise is based/compatible with Ubuntu.
Aside from Puppy 4.31, I'm using Wary 5.11 and Saluki

share ko lang. ganyan din ako dati, kung Mint ba o Ubuntu pipiliin ko. Kapag Ubuntu pipiliin ko, by default, hindi ko mapapatugtog mp3s ko. Ganun din sa ibang format ng movies. Ang dami ko pang gagawin para ma-play yung mga yun. In short, kelangan ko pang iinstall ang para sa mga proprietary formats. Sa Mint, pagkadownload ko ng ISO niya at pagka-install, ready ko na i-play yung mga proprietary formats.
Sa ngayon iba na magiging dahilan ko. Kung gusto ko mas maliit na filesize, Ubuntu na pipiliin ko. Gasino na lang ang filesize difference kung ang habol ko lang naman ay i-play yung mga ibang mga songs and movies formats. Sa ngayon, masyado ng bloated ang Mint unlike before na kasya lang sa CD.
I suggest, you try and experiment Ubuntu at Mint para malaman mo mismo personally.
actually I already did finished downloading both Ubuntu and Linux Mint, not only that I also downloaded both 32bit and 64bit versions. all in all i downloaded 4 ISOs.
check mo punkz ang specs ng lappy mo... tapos check mo din sa linux mint na website ang system requirements nya... usually ok naman sa lahat ang mga distros ng linux eh.. at sa tingin ko, ppwede yang lappy mo sa linux mint...
