Hi Friend,

Di ko pa rin na-try ang mga yan, pero nagbasa-basa ako sa website ng eLive, and some other reading materials off the Internet for eLive and Moon OS Linux, para makatulong sa iyo.

Based sa isang reading material, eLive is free to download but not free to install. Here is the reading material.
Moon OS Linux is also a lightweight Linux-based OS, pero yung interface niya is just similar to Linux Mint anyway and mukhang mahina ang community support. If you will ask my opinion, I would say maganda (and sobrang okay) na ang Puppy Linux sa PC mo. The best part is, Puppy Linux uses the same repository as Ubuntu (repository is kumbaga, isipin mo na database ng mga applications/software na puwede mong i-download). Since Puppy Linux is using the same repository as Ubuntu, ibig sabihin nun puwede mo rin ma-install sa Puppy Linux yung mga nai-install mo sa Ubuntu, which is yun ang requirement mo sa nauna mong post. :)

for now, kailangan ko ng wine.. di ako makadownload sa bagal ng net ko.. sino pwede magattach?? :D _->

Hi Friend,

Anong version, and for which Distro?

Friend,

You mean yung default desktop environment (Window Manager) ng Puppy Linux?

Tutorial: How to Install and Configure Java

Hi Friend,

Medyo di ko na-gets ang tanong mo.

1. Are you asking kung ano ang version ng Flash Player sa Ubuntu 10.04?
2. Anu-nong version ba ang nakita mo? Saan mo nakita?
3. Paano mo balak mag-download ng Flash?

By the way, may mga nag-develop nga pala ng "open-source" alternative sa Sun Java na Flash. By default yun ang nai-install sa Ubuntu. Ang name niya is Open JDK (openjdk6-jre).

How to check kung naka-install ang default na Java ng Ubuntu (Open JDK):

1. Go to Applications--> Ubuntu Software Center. A window will open. Ubuntu Software Center is parang "Windows Update" kung ihahambing mo sa Windows.
2. In the upper-right hand corner of the said window, type mo Open JDK.

You can install if you want. :)

If you want to install Java provided by Sun Microsystems (Sun Java), mahahanap mo rin siya sa Ubuntu Software Center. Just type it in the upper-right hand corner of the search field as well.

Be careful though, that if you have 2 types of Java installed, for example ni-install mo yung default na open-source (Open JDK) and also yung closed-source (Sun Java), ang babasahin at gagamitin ng Ubuntu is yung una mong ni-install.

If you installed both types of Java in Ubuntu, here's how you can check which one Ubuntu is using:

Hope this helps. :)

Download video from youtube with GVDOWN

Installation :

Download source code tarball from project site : http://code.google.com/p/vdown/downloads/list .
It was v0.6.5 at the time at this article. Extract the tarball on desktop.

In terminal,

Code:
sudo aptitude install python2.5
cd Desktop/gvdown-0.6.5/
sudo nonsrc/setup.sh

Which shouldnt throw any errors indicating missing dependencies. If it does, you have to manually satisfy the dependencies. After the installation is finished you may delete the source folder from desktop or keep it somewhere if you want to uninstall later.

Start gvdown from Applications > Internet > GVDOWN. It can also be started from terminal with “gvdown”. On the first run, you should select where to save downloaded videos from File > Preferences. Sadly it doesnt provide queue management but you can open more than one instances if you want.

Open Terminal:

Type:

Code:
Sudo apt-get install (name of software)

then type your password, then pag nag ask y/n, alam mo na gagawin. :)

Default Installing Metasploit On Ubuntu!

The Metasploit Framework is well-supported on the Ubuntu platform. The following instructions should also apply to Kubuntu, Xubuntu, and Debian.
If these instructions do not work for your version of Ubuntu, please try the Generic Linux instructions instead.
Dependencies¶

Install the Ruby dependencies:

$ sudo apt-get install ruby libopenssl-ruby libyaml-ruby libdl-ruby libiconv-ruby libreadline-ruby irb ri rubygems
Install the Subversion client:

$ sudo apt-get install subversion
In order to build the native extensions (pcaprub, lorcon2, etc), the following packages need to be installed:

$ sudo apt-get build-dep ruby
$ sudo apt-get install ruby-dev libpcap-dev
Database support¶

In order to use the database functionality, RubyGems along with the appropriate drivers must be installed:

$ sudo apt-get install rubygems libsqlite3-dev
$ sudo gem install sqlite3-ruby
Or for MySQL:

$ sudo apt-get install rubygems libmysqlclient-dev
$ sudo gem install mysql
Framework¶

Once the dependencies have been installed, download the Unix tarball from the download page and run the following commands:

$ tar xf framework-3.X.tar.gz
$ sudo mkdir -p /opt/metasploit3
$ sudo cp -a msf3/ /opt/metasploit3/msf3
$ sudo chown root:root -R /opt/metasploit3/msf3
$ sudo ln -sf /opt/metasploit3/msf3/msf* /usr/local/bin/
Extensions¶

The framework includes a few native Ruby extensions that must be compiled in order to use certain types of modules.
To enable raw socket modules:

$ sudo apt-get install libpcap-dev
$ sudo bash
# cd /opt/metasploit3/msf3/external/pcaprub/
# ruby extconf.rb
# make && make install
To enable WiFi modules:

$ sudo bash
# cd /opt/metasploit3/msf3/external/ruby-lorcon2/
# svn co https://802.11ninja....vn/lorcon/trunk lorcon2
# cd lorcon2
# ./configure --prefix=/usr && make && make install
# cd ..
# ruby extconf.rb
# make && make install
Updates¶

The Metasploit Framework is updated daily with the latest exploits, payloads, features, and bug fixes. To update your installation of the framework:

$ sudo svn update /opt/metasploit3/msf3/
This can also be installed into the root user's crontab:

$ sudo crontab -e -u root # enter the line below
1 * * * * /usr/bin/svn update /opt/metasploit3/msf3/ >> /var/log/msfupdate.log 2>&1

any comments or sugestion mga linux users regarding sa garena on ubuntu???

Hi Friend,

I'm assuming you are using WINE to be able to run this game in Ubuntu.

My advice to most members here who are using WINE is: always visit the WINE website. They have an Application Database. It tells you kung gaano ka-useable ang isang application kapag pinatakbo gamit ang WINE. Maraming "application testers" ng WINE, ang trabaho nila ay mag-test ng application, then nire-rate nila kung gaano kaayos or kapangit ang isang application pag ginamitan ng WINE. The highest rating they provide is "Platinum" followed by Gold, Silver, Bronze, etc. The lowest rating is "Garbage".

I checked the App DB (application Database) of WINE for garana. Unfortunately, the rating is "Garbage" meaning to say, wala pang nakakapagpa-gana nang matino ng garena sa Ubuntu using WINE. Heto po: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=19336 at heto: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=19336&iTestingId=51462
