A native ulam/pulutan in my town in Cavite.
If we don't have enough budget, this is a practical solution for us family/barkada...

Kamadil (Kamote / Malunggay / Dilis)

Ingredients:

1 medium size onion (mince/tinadtad) - P3.00
3 pieces of garlic (mince/tinadtad) - P2.00
1 piece camote (sweet potato) (medium size) (slice into cubes) - P10.00 - P12.00
1 pack of dried anchovies (dilis) (smallest size) - P10.00
malunggay leaves - P10.00/bundle - if your kapitbahay has, hingi na lang..
1-2 pcs. of chili (optional) I prefered labuyo
pepper(pino) (P1.00) and salt

cooking oil and a cup of water

Procedure:
1. Put 2 table spoon of cooking oil in a wok pan.
2. Saute' garlic and onion.
3. Add camote (sweet potato), stir fry for 1 minute until camote turns yellowish, then add 1/4 cup of water. allow to simmer.
4. While simmering, add the anchovies (dilis) 3/4 of the content only. add 1/2 cup of water and let it simmer for another 2 minutes.
5. Add malunggay leaves. if the sauce is not salty, add the remaining anchovies.
6. Add pepper (a pinch will do) and a little bit of salt depending on your taste, add chili if you want it spicy...

Ulam cost: P30.00 - P35.00
Serving: 2-3 servings
Food info: Sweet potato has its natural sweetness combined with the minimum saltiness of anchovies, malunggay neutralizes the two flavors...

This is a very healthy ulam.... enjoy...
I'll post as many native but economical ulams sa i can...

salt to taste
3 pcs egg
pepper to taste
magic sarap
cooking oil

2. beat eggs at ihalo ang puso ng saging dito ..season with salt, magic sarap and pepper
3. mag init ng cooking oil sa kawali..sukatin thru desired sizes pwedeng iyong isang patty eh 3 kutsara nung nauna nating ginawa
4. iprito lang

then kung gusto mo ng siding na sabaw pwede kang gumawa ng potato soup or kahit iyong nasa pouch lang na knorr soup ..

TS...
Your welcome....

I've been cooking since high school. Sinimulan kong pag praktisan mga kabarkada ko.
16 lahat kami at that is my first time na nakapag luto ako ng para sa ganong dami ng tao.
And when my mom notice my interest in cooking, ako na ang nagkargo ng almusal at hapunan.
Pati rin yung Ninang ko, HRM graduate, teach her specialties and budgeting strategies to me...
and the largest number na napalaban ako ng paluluto was around 150 persons..

and there it goes, mag mula sa simpleng salu salo up to malakihang handaan ng pamilya, I'm always incharge of the food.

Note: Old version ng pagluluto medyo matrabaho pero it has the touch.

Ingredients:

Phase 1
1. 1/2 kilo galunggong ( 6-7 pieces ) medium size (P60.00 - P70.00)
2. sukang paombong P15.00 / liter - kung wala po (P5.00 pouch) brand of your choice
3. ginger (luya) P3.00 (crushed then chopped)
4. garlic P2.00 (crushed then chopped)
5. pepper (pino) P1.00
6. salt to taste (iodized)
7. 1/2 cup of water

Directions:

Make a Pinangat na galunggong.
1. Pour in the vinegar (balance it sourness depending on you taste by adding water) in the cooking pot
2. Add salt, mix, then ensure that it a bit salty (so we will not use salt in phase 2).
3. Add ginger and garlic and half of the pepper (pino). Mix then taste.
4. Then arrange the galunggong in the mixture.
5. Cover then put into a boil... 5 minutes will do or rather when the eye of the fish came out...
6. Remove the fish and let dry in the strainer. Save the stock.
7. Debone the fish (himayin) into fine shreds... Set aside

Phase 2...

Ingredients:
1. 2 medium size onions (minced) - P6:00
2. 3 pieces of garlic (minced) - P2.00
3. celery (kintsay) including leaves (minced) - P3.00 - P5.00
4. the remaining pepper (pino)
5. banana wrapper 10 pieces (cut in half) - P3.00 (you can make 20 pieces)
6. 1 egg. (P5.00)

Directions:
1. Get the deboned galunggong.
2. Put in the minced celery, oinons and garlic and pepper then mix all together.
3. Divide the mixture into 20 equal portions base on the number of wrappers.
4. Break the egg, do not scramble, you only need the white part to glue the banana wrapper.
5. Put in the galunggong mixture on the wrapper, fold it at the sides before rolling it from the rear going to the front.
6. Glue the end portion with egg white.
7. Deep fry it until golden brown....
8. Drain the excess oil using tissue or patuluin sa strainer...

Mang Tomas / Ketchup / mayonnaise or any dip sauce of your choice will do...
Reheat the stock and serve it together with the lumpia. Masarap din itong ihalo sa kanin

Serving: 6-7 servings
Food cost: P102.00 or less depending on galunggong.

Enjoy and happy cooking..
