A Part of Me​

My heart missed you for too long,
In too many ways,
That it became a part of me,
Engraved deep into the hollows of my heart.

I would wake up,
To stretch,
To breathe,
And say… I miss you…

They told me to let it go,
To let you go,
And I would say:
You can’t dictate the heart for beating,
As it’s like holding your breath,
You want to hang on,
But you can’t hold it forever.

Not just to save the day,
