ELIGIBUILITY:
1) The Manila Bay Photography Contest is open to Filipinos and non-Filipinos that are currently residing in the Philippines during the contest proper.
Professionals: Professionals are self-identified photographers who currently receive or have received payment for their photographs.
Enthusiasts (Non-professional): Enthusiasts are hobbyists who have NOT received any payment for their photographs.
2) The following are disqualified from joining the contest:
a) Those who are represented under contract (e.g., by a talent agent or manager) that would limit or impair Anchor Land’s ability to show the Entries in any media form;
b) Those who have acting or modeling contract/s that would make their appearance in the Entries a violation of any third party rights;
c) Those who are under a merchandising agreement;
d) Those who are under any other contractual relationship, including but not limited to guild and/or union memberships, which may prohibit them from participating fully in this contest.
e) Employees of Anchor Land, its affiliates and subsidiaries, said employees’ immediate family members including their relatives up to second degree of affinity or consanguinity and persons living with them are not eligible to join the contest.
3) For the purposes of the Rules and Mechanics, all persons eligible to join the contest and who have actually submitted an Entry for the contest shall be referred to herein as “Participants.”
Mechanics
1) “Capture Romance by the Bay” is the overall theme.
2) Entries may or may not have been taken during the competition period but must not have participated / been submitted and/or won in any other contests/competitions nor have been published in any local and foreign photography magazines, newspapers and publications.
3) No Entry shall portray Anchor Land, its services or products in a negative light.
4) Participants may not copy or otherwise plagiarize their submitted Entry from any source, nor may the Entries include third party copyrighted material. Anchor Land reserves the right to disqualify false or plagiarized Entry or Entries suspected of being false or plagiarized.
5) Participants may use any Digital Camera – DSLR, Film Camera – SLR, Point and Shoot. Use of cellular phones or computer tablets is not allowed.
6) All Entries must be printed on photographic paper, matte or glossy finish, without lamination or canvas effects through a giclee inkjet print lab or photo lab. The use of inkjet bond papers, laser print, metallic photo papers with silver effects or any photo paper that will produce hologram effects will not be accepted.
7) The Entries should be of the following sizes:
Professional Division: 20.32 cm x 25.40 cm
(8 x 10 inches)
Enthusiast Division: 20.32 cm x 25.40 cm
(8 x 10 inches)
8) Bleed or borders are optional, but should not exceed one inch (1”) on all sides.
9) Colored, black & white, sepia tone, duo tone, digitally converted from scanned film negative will be accepted.
10) Creative effects done within the camera at the time of exposure, such as multiple exposures, flash fill lighting and filtration are allowed.
11) Digital retouching on density, contrast adjustments, minor cropping on composition, burning, and dodging are allowed.
12) Entries that are manually retouched and/or painted over are not allowed.
13) Major cropping and manipulation of the Entries through adding and subtracting are not allowed.
14) By joining the contest, Participant represents and warrants that his or her Entry is original and does not infringe rights of any third party. Participant agrees to hold Anchor Land free and harmless, indemnifying if necessary, against any and all claims, damages or liability arising from Participant’s violation of rights of any third party.
15) The participant is responsible for securing—prior to submission of the entry—a formal consent from concerned parties if the image contains any material or element that is not the participant’s property, or if any person appears in the photo. For minors that are captured or photographed in the submitted entry, the contest participant must obtain a written consent from the minor’s parents/legal guardians. Anchor Land should not—in any way—be held responsible for the participant’s inability to secure the necessary permission or consent for their submitted entries.
Submission of Entries:
1) Submission for both Metro Manila and Provincial Entries starts on March 23, 2015. Deadline is on May 29, 2015.

Regional Entries sent to the Anchor Land Head Office via standard registered package or courier must be postmarked May 29, 2015.
2) Entries should be submitted in an individual envelope with Entry Form in Triplicate: One copy attached to the Entry, one for Anchor Land, and one copy for the Participant.
3) Submission of Entries should be accompanied by the following requirements:
a) Completely filled-up and signed Entry Form with one (1) 1” x 1” ID colored picture of the Participant.
b) Photocopy of ONE valid ID (for age verification & proof of citizenship). Any of the following ID’s will be recognized: Current School ID, PRC License, Driver’s License, Official Company ID, copy of Passport, Postal ID, SSS ID, GSIS-E-card, Senior Citizen’s ID, Voter’s ID, NBI/Police Clearance
c) Notarized affidavit of Entry Form certifying originality of Entry and subscription to the rules and regulations of the competition.
4) For purposes of this Rules and Mechanics, all photographs submitted by the Participants for this contest shall be referred to herein as “Entries.”
5) A participant can submit only one entry.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:
1) Judging will be completed in two (2) rounds:
a) All Entries will be pre-qualified on June 15, 2015, at the Anchor Land Holdings, Inc., Makati (9AM to 5PM) to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions provided in the Mechanics.
b) The Board of Judges will select eight (8) finalists from each Division on June 23, 2015, at the Anchor Land Head Office, LV Locsin Bldg. Ayala Ave. Makati (9AM to 5PM).
2) Criteria for judging will be based on:
a) Visual concept and impact 30%
• The use of light to express your subject in the best way possible, creativity, originality.
b) Relevance to the theme 40%
• How clear the photographer conveyed the “Capture Romance by the Bay” theme.
c) Imaginative execution 30%
• How much the photograph captures an interesting point of view.
3) The decision of the Board of Judges is final and non-appealable.
4) Judges: Anchor Land executives and esteemed figures in the fields of architecture and the arts.
5) Final judging will be on July 16, 2015, 6:30PM at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.
6) In case the finalists’ scores are the same, the judges will have to re-evaluate the entries to determine the winner.
PRIZES(TAX-FREE)
Professional Division :
Winner – Php 100,000 + Trophy + Juror’s Choice Certificate
Three (3) Runner Ups – Php 5,000 each + Juror’s Choice Certificate
Four (4) Highly Commended – Juror’s Choice Certificate
Enthusiast Division:
Winner – Php 50,000 + Trophy + Juror’s Choice Certificate
Three (3) Runner Ups – Php 5,000 each + Juror’s Choice Certificate
Four (4) Highly Commended – Juror’s Choice Certificate
*20% Tax for each prize exceeding P10,000.00 shall be paid by Anchor Land Holdings, Inc.
NOTIFICATION:
1) Finalists will be notified by registered mail, phone, email,or any communication, at Anchor Land’s discretion, using the information provided in the Entry Forms.
2) During the awarding ceremony if the finalist is not able to attend, the finalist should give authorization letter to his/her representative to receive the cash prize. The representative should present at least two (2) valid IDs.
3) Prizes not claimed within sixty (60) days from receipt of registered notice will be forfeited in favor of Anchor Land Holdings, Inc.with prior approval of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
4) The winners can claim their prize during the awarding event on July 15, 2015 or at the Anchor Land Head office from July 17, 2015 onwards upon presentation of a valid ID and registered mail from Anchor Land Holdings, Inc.
5) The selected Participant’s full name, hometown and entry title will be announced to the public on July 16, 2015 and may be posted in promotional media.
USE OF ENTRIES:
1) By joining the contest, Participants irrevocably grant to Anchor Land all rights to the Entries, including the right to reproduce, publish, exhibit, auction, broadcast and use the Entries, in any manner or format, for any marketing, promotions, advertising, programming, charitable purposes, commercials and publicity, in any and all forms of media worldwide in perpetuity, without compensation or consideration for additional consent from the Participants or from any third party. In submitting their Entries, the Participants expressly consent, assign, waive and concede any and all rights of ownership over the same in favor of Anchor Land. Anchor Land, however, shall acknowledge the name of the Participants when reproducing, publishing, broadcasting, auctioning and using the Entries.
For the avoidance of doubt, all rights assigned to Anchor Land, including the right to reproduce, publish, exhibit, auction, broadcast and use, shall be limited to the Entries submitted for the contest.
2) The Participants shall hold Anchor Land, its shareholders, directors, officers and employees, free and harmless, indemnifying if necessary, against any and all liability, loss, or damage, arising from claims of third parties relative to and in connection with Anchor Land’s reproduction, publication, exhibition, auction, broadcasting and use of the Entries.
3) The Participants understand and agree that their name, likeness and personal information may be used by Anchor Land in relation to the latter’s reproduction, publication, exhibition, broadcasting and use of the Entries.
4) By joining the contest and submitting the Entries, Participants irrevocably transfer, convey and cede unto Anchor Land the material object of the Entries including any and all rights of ownership or proprietary interest therein.
