Title: HOW TO RENAME THE OPERATING SYSTEM IN SELECTION MODE...

Instructions:

1. Go to Terminal and type this following Codes: sudo pico /boot/grub/menu.1st then hit Enter
2. Enter your Password
3. then Find this Text..

title Ubuntu 9.10, LINUX khan-khan
uuid fb9b8d22-505d-487a-928c-40dca065b20e
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.28-11-generic root=UUID=fb9b8d22-505d-487a-92$
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.28-11-generic

then you can change the title text whatever you want..
then if you want to hide it just do like this:

#title Ubuntu 9.10, LINUX khan-khan
#uuid fb9b8d22-505d-487a-928c-40dca065b20e
#kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.28-11-generic root=UUID=fb9b8d22-505d-487a-92$

Just put a number a number sign at the front of the title:

and if you want to change the text of the Microsoft Xp Selection just find this text below:

This entry automatically added by the Debian installer for a non-linux OS

Then you can change the title again if you want..

then after you all the processing you can save this by Holding CTRL and X then hit Enter..

Hello po! hindi po programming ang problem ko sa ubuntu. Yung pagintindi sa ubuntu prob ko. Sana matulungan mu ako bro.
First Q: panu mginstall ng program sa ubuntu? Wat file type ng installer?
May ubuntu kasi ako kaso di ko din nagagamit masyado since wala namang mga programs. Thanks in advance bro!

Aha.. So New User ka pa lang sa UBUNTU.. So ang Problema mo ngaun Is Nalilito kapa sa pag gamit ng UBUNTU Desktop..

Ok Ito muna ang mga Basic Information sa Ubuntu..

1. Ang Ubuntu ay hendi napapasokan ng Virus kahit gaano pa ito kalala at katinding Virus..
2. Mas Maganda ng 80% ang Graphics ng Ububtu kaysa Windows..
3. Nagagamit mo ung Program sa Windows sa Ubuntu pero hendi mo pweding gamitin ang program ng Ubuntu sa Windows..
4. Mas maraming Special Features sa Ubuntu kaysa Windows..

Ok. so Una para madali ang Installation mo sa Ubuntu ay Gumamit ka ng Ubuntu Desktop 9.04 kasi madali lang ung Steps.

pag Na install muna i Update mo ung Ubuntu mo. Pag hendi mo alam paano i update. ganito lang..
Punta ka sa System - Administration - Update Manager..

Tapos Installation na ng Mga programs.. ito ung most use Program in Ubuntu

Abiword - Ka2lad lang niyan ng Ms Word 2007
Wine - Pwedi mong gamitin ang mga Program sa Windows sa pamamagitan ng Program na ito..
Compiz fusion - 3d Graphics Desktop

Ok ganito lang.. Punta ka sa Apllications - Add/remove Program - then select all available Software..

Mag Search kana ng Program na gusto mo then install mo lang..
ganyan lang Kadali..

Ako ubuntu user hehe pero gamit ko lang to for shell script studying. May alam ba kayo way para maedit bootscreen ng ubuntu?
2nd alam niyo ba pano gumawa guest account? Wala password po hehe
3rd pwede ba alisin yung text na grub 5.1 loading sa 1st boot? Gusto ko direct nalang sa choosing OS option eh... Di ko type name na grub hahaha!
Last graphics driver para sa ubuntu... Intel g33 chipset to be specific nabasa ko kasi dati pwede daw 3d hardware acceleration dun sa ubuntu eh... Sana matulungan ako hehe

mayroon akung 4 na OS sa 1st boot start up ko.. 1.) Tiny XP 2.) Windows 7 3.) Ubuntu 9.04 4.) Linux Inspire Hehe 400Gg Naman ung hardisk ko at mayroon akung 4Gg Ram at 2Gg Video Card.. hehe

Anyway No need pa na Mag Surf ka ng Applications para sa Ubuntu mo...
Kailangan mo lang mag update.. pag na update muna ung Ununtu mo..
Go to Add remove Programs, then select all available Software.. then doon ka mag search ng Application na gusto mo.. mayroon mga descriptions ung mga applications dun..

Pero Para maging Maganda Best Performance nang UBuntu mo dapat kahit papaano

258 Video Card

Siguro Baka noong G'Install mo ung ubuntu may corrupted files kaya Mabagal Processing ng Ubuntu mo..
Kasi in Ubuntu Every Settings Configuration is Files..
Isa lang ma delete mo doon it will cause Problems..

i suggest that you use ubuntu 9.x instead of 7.x, since 9.x has alot of improvements over 7.x. the recommended system requirements for ubuntu is 700MHz of speed, vga with 1024x768(so even you have 32MB of builtin gfx processor it shouldn't be a problem), 384MB of RAM(for compiz fusion) and as for the space you can just allocate 4GB.(4GB is what use for my ubuntu).

and for installing applications it is better to us synaptic package manager.it has huge list of applications.

Q.what if i don't have the above system requirements can i still install ubuntu?
A. yes, you can install xubuntu that uses xfce desktop enviroment that uses less system requirements.

p.s. sorry but windows for me, is still has the most slick and best GUI.

Matanong ko nga pala pano ba magrun games jan thru wine? Tinry ko kasi kanina perfect world pagkabukas launcher ngcclose agad... Nakita ko naman sa youtube working smooth at very clear eh... Bat kaya sakin ayaw magrun? Kung maparun ko mga games dito ddelete ko na talaga windows OS ko.

first you should upgrade your wine.
wine seems to have some difficulties in figuring the path of the application/games. it should be advisable to launch it via terminal. execute the application by heading to the path of the application and execute the common command for wine "wine application.exe". also in this way you can see a list of codes whether it is being performed well by wine or if there is a error going on.

Bro latest version na ng wine ang gamit ko... Itinanong ko na din sa kanila kung pwede perfect world sa wine sabi oo daw... Then napapagana ko naman mga applications ko eh sa games lang ako hirap... Kelangan pa ba directx?
