[TUT]Alcatel Glory 918D/M/N

mcjal,
Ito po ang sabi ni sir nupandu:
9. Be advice that removing vital system application can harm your device and lead to malfunction only remove that you don’t need. Below are list of some vital application that should not un-install.
a. Account and Sync Settings
b. Android Networking Diagnose Tool
c. Bluetooth
d. Bluetooth Share
e. CellConnectionService
f. Certificate Installer
g. com.mediatek
h. com.mediatek.omacp
This is as far as I know maybe I missed some of it so be careful.

For me, ang criteria ko sa pag-remove ng app ay kung sa tingin ko ay hindi ko ito kailangan, like PodCast, and built-in social media apps like facebook, twitter, Twidroid etc. hindi kasi ako mahilig sa social medias. :giggle:

Kung sakaling hindi ka sure, i-freeze mo lang po and be smart to have backup as well. :)

thanks.

what does freezing do? i already linked some non-system apps to my SD card but still having a low internal memory, 20MB. if i can have a list of those other non-system apps, i think i will be able to link more MBs into my SD card thus freeing up space for my internal memory.

Freezing an app simply disabled it. This method saves some RAM, but not internal memory.
20MB?

But I saved a backup like my contacts. Then I proceed using a custom ROM. Before I thought stock ROM is enough but I was wrong. Now I'm enjoying 122MB free internal memory. :)

nope. i had a lot of apps linked to my SD. i am talking about pre-installed apps. i was able to free up 70MB of my internal mem after i rooted my phone. but i updated some of my internal apps (play store, etc.) thus lowering the user-available memory to ~40MB. but the moment i open/access/run applications, the internal mem lowers down to ~20MB.

as far as i know, pre-installed apps and linked-to-sd apps still eat a portion of internal memory with their data enabled., the reason why i always had my fb and other apps cache/data cleared after using. so basically, i only had ~40MB internal mem available for me plus the 2nd partition of my sd card.

i have never tried flashing new roms as i don't know how, and i think there is none for 2.3.6 yet, and i'm afraid the after-effects might affect the phones performance negatively. i like the current connectivity (3G) performance, keypad, etc. i only had an issue with internal mem. ;)

*Set intall-recovery.sh permission to rxw -rx -rx OR rwx r-x r-x*? help mga sir :help:

just follow bluerain's rooting tut, you'll get his CWM based recovery

You will need to browse and delete them manually using “Root Explorer” tools. I used ES File Explorer. With this app you can make .apk backup of those apps before deleting them.

Guys pag nawala ulit yung lockscreen and power button settings nyo after doing a restore via CWM recovery. Reboot nyo lang yung phone nyo (if you have link2sd you MIGHT want to choose the format of your partition first before doing a reboot) after the reboot setup wizard should run automatically (if not just run it manually) after that you can choose to do another reboot but your phone should be back to normal even without another reboot.

just tried it twice, im on 2.3.6 btw :3

Is this after doing the CMW Restore or using the advance restore feature? Everytime I try to do a CMW restore I always loose my default locker, options when power button is long press (Normally these are “Power Off”, “Airplane Mode” and “Something Else I don’t Remember”). I also loose the “Google Play” apps which I need to reinstall using my .apk backup.

Can you really restore these “Power Button” feature and “Default Locker” using those steps?

figured as much, daming nagreport ng problem na yun regarding sa limit ng data2ext e

yes sir, nawala din yun sakin nung una after kong mag CWM restore. i tested it twice and bumalik naman yung mga yun. akala ko nga nung una nawala lahat ng apps ko e, pero after doing a reboot nagrun yung setup wizard, and after i finished with that everything was back to normal.
