UNCLE SAM
i once had an uncle
i called him uncle sam
he was funny, he was kind
he was a jolly old man
he used to sit me on his knees
and shower me with kisses
he'd give me lots of warm hugs
and never-ending tickles
but then one day something changed
i think it was the time i turned ten
when sitting on his knees gave me shivers
and his kisses happened more often
his tight hugs gave me goosebumps
his touches i began to abhor
and when he tried to give me gifts
i wanted to run out the back door
he wanted me to do things
things i didn't want to do
and when i told him i'd tell my mom
he scolded me not to
for he said it was a secret, you see
just between the two of us
so i better keep my pretty mouth shut
and not put up a fuss
but i didn't have to keep my promise
once, my mom walked in on us
and she immediately told my dad
who just came home for lunch
then everything was in chaos
lots of screaming, banging and tears
i didn't know what to do
so i just stood there while my mom sobs in my ears
my dad then held me in his arms and told me not to worry
for uncle sam won't be coming back anytime soon and when i asked,
he said he went away in a hurry.
