I started this thread to help everyone wanting a new computer. All you need to do is post the following:

The prices i will be using are those that come from major shops in gilmore and also PCexpress and others... The prices will only reflect that of which on the date of my post.

How to get to Gilmore:
commuting... From EDSA get on the MRT to Cubao and take the other train and get off at Gilmore station. so easy.
driving... Via aurora is the easiest way from EDSA. anyway, just ask na lang cos i dunno where you'll be coming from.

Emaxx 780G-ACC. baka makaunlock ka ng hidden core... baka lang.

as for nagtitipid, since mukhang wala ka naman VC at dvd, mag generic PSU ka na lang at mag ordinary mATX/ATX case. nasa <P1300 pinakamurang combo nyan. and skip the viewsonic. mag CHIMEI ka na lang, panget pala support ng Viewsonic from distro.

i use emaxx as well. i have 18pcs emaxx... all working A-OK. this model specifically.

yung PCI to SATA, ewan ko kung magkano yan. ako rin hindi pa nakakakita nyan sa personal. E-SATA yung nasa labas na port, 2 sata yung nasa loob.

for the vc, onboard muna gamitin ko that's why amd ung set up na pinili ko... hehe
for the dvd, minimal issue naman kaya hindi ko na sinama.. =)

energy saver din po ba ang chimei?...

i don't know what energy saver is, pero i'm guessing its similar to LG where the LCD dims a bit? frankly, i think its a marketing ploy to sell you stuff that you really don't need. Pag hindi ginagamit, pindutin mo yung off.

about sa hidden core, motherboards with ACC, (associated with SB750) usually are able to unlock hidden cores. example, you have a phenom X3. turn on ACC and you now have a phenom X4. of course, hindi lahat ng processor may ganito, pero malay mo. alam ko meron nga bumili ng X2(dual core) pagkalikot nya, X4(quadcore) na yung PC nya.

sino nga nagtatanong nung PCI to SATA? PM mo ako. may alam ako.

Ung PCI na sata? Sa PCX nasa 900 ata... ung direct sa IDE port nasa 350~450, meron dito sa tindahan ng computer parts sa Victory Central Mall, Caloocan.

Asrock = rock solid (according to the people who used them)
Redfox = cheap, avoid this... if possible, but decent board as well.
Emaxx = so far, i'm using one... ang bilis niya with Athlon II x2 250, bootup windows xp is < (less than) 5 seconds.

Go with

1. Athlon II x2 215 if la budget (saves around 200 ~ 400 pesos)
2. Emaxx is the cheapest among the motherboards.
3. Limit your ram to 1gb... shop ka naman, di home computer.
4. Go for 250GB lang... saves you another 200 ~ 400 pesos, 50 games wont fill 250GB. unless your games have 8GB sizes...
5. Don't go for branded, go for the cheap ones that come with the case, sir OhNow3P is right... it costs around 1300 for each (this is the ATX case named Blade from PCX w/ 500w PSU and insulated insides)
6. Chimei has a bit less quality but its cheaper and has (if i remember correctly) more service centers here? or at least its easier to fix.

Di ganun kalakas ang 3200HD na embedded ah... although it can play left4dead, you'll have to set it to low for the framerates to go above 40fps at 1024x768 resolution. Still, its playable. even NBA 2k9 or 2k10. I said playable ok?

Yup, meron ngang ibang boards na ganun... ung iba naman idadaan lang sa bios update ung AMD chipset nila, unlocked agad.

shop ka ba? mag MCP61-s ka nalang. yan gamit ko. ok naman siya. walang problema at reklamo mga customers ko... online games lang naman nilalaro nung mga yun e. ni hindi nga nagagalaw yung 2K10 e. L4D ok na rin pero hehe... low settings syempre.

what do you mean playable po?.. so may malaking possibility na naghahang siya habang ginagamit?..

i see, pag nabili ko na po ung motherboard, papaturo naman ako pano makatuklas nung hidden core if there's any... hehe

What i mean by playable is that your average fps should be around 28 frames per second to 30+. Any less than that and the game is not enjoyable anymore.

Nope... sorry... you can only place AM2 processors on that kind of mobo... why dont you go with Emaxx 785gm-fxn? Although a bit more costly, at least it supports DDR3 and AM2+ and AM3 processors and has an onboard 4200HD chip which makes you not need an external video card for some gaming. =)

Edit:

Although I've read comments on the AM2, AM2+ and AM3 areas that AM3's are compatible with AM2 slots... no idea who to confirm this with, its mixed, around 50/50 or maybe 45/55 leaning on that AM3's are compatible with AM2 slots.

nagana yung athlon II 240 sa emaxx MCP61-S. nakita ko na. basta newer versions nung board no problems na. ewan ko lang sa ibang brands, baka need pa ng bios update.

mga sir paadvice naman po ng build. usage: internet, photoshop, GAMING (gta4, gtasa, nfs, mu online, ran, cabal) tsaka movies na dn at may dvd-r. budget is up to 18k at most para sa cpu (graduating hs student palang po kasi, ive been saving for almost 2 years na) paki include ang prices preferably from gilmore. Intel po. 20/7 po hours ng usage. sana po may price ndn ng lcd monitor at least 18in kahit refurnished. salamat po.

sir, according to my research,, idinadaan nalang daw sa bios ung mga am2/am2+ boards para maka maka read ng AM3 processors.. pero with my board here.. unsupported am3 dahil hindi na naguupdate ng bios ang ECS para sa V2.0 nito.. kaya naman may ginawa na silang v3.0 for am3 ready...

kung intel, standard na E5X00+G31 board+2gb ram+9500GT DDR3 or 4670. yun lang, hindi mo ma-enjoy GTA4 dito.

i suggest going LGA1156(including DDR3), with new intel processors, pero masyado mahal pa ang board at around 5000. hintay ka na lang bumaba presyo nito, kasi dito ka makakakuha ng more value for your money. dagdag ka pa sa budget mo ng mga 5K baka sakali pwede na.

or pwede ka mag AMD. madali lang magupgrade at sulit ang AMD sa ngayon, IMHO, the better option for entry level PCs.

sir, according to my research,, idinadaan nalang daw sa bios ung mga am2/am2+ boards para maka maka read ng AM3 processors.. pero with my board here.. unsupported am3 dahil hindi na naguupdate ng bios ang ECS para sa V2.0 nito.. kaya naman may ginawa na silang v3.0 for am3 ready...

hindi ba pwede gamitin yung pang V3.0 na pang update? i think pwede naman yun unless sobrang drastic ng changes. email mo ang ECS support though bago mo i-try, mas alam nila yun e.

pwede po pa post na rin yung amd build tapos yung intel na din 20k sagad na budget. T_T kung pwede lower mas ok. tska anu po ba yung LGA 1156? pasensya na po at salamat ng marami!
