Coach Chot is correct. We need bigger guards that can match, not our Asian counterparts, but against the world.

As for Lassiter and Slaughter, di pa ata tayo sigurado kung eligible ba sila.

Kahit ano pa ang desisyon ni Coach Chot, buo ang suporta ko sa kanila 100%.

Naglaro na yan noong 2009, wa-epek. Inimbitahan noong 2010 para sumama sa Gilas 1.0 (2011 team), tumanggi naman.

Personal reasons. Ito ata yung time na magulo na ang relasyon niya kay Kris Aquino.

Nasa wishlist din siya ni Coach Chot para sa Gilas 2.0 kasama ni Arwind Santos, kaso wala silang reply para mag-commit.

paglalabanan pa pala ni Douthit at Blatche ang center position mahihirapan si Blatche dito kung full healthy ang makikita natin na Marcus Douthit

Naturalization, Approved!

ASIA: PHILIPPINES

The House committee on justice approved Antipolo representative Robbie Puno's House Bill 3783, for the naturalization of Brooklyn Nets big man Andray Blatche, in order to allow him to suit up for the Philippine men's national basketball team, also known as Gilas.

The committee approved the bill though, subject to the condition that Blatche appears before a Philippine consulate to express his intent to be a Filipino citizen. Blatche is also expected to answer questions to be forwarded to the consulate by the committee on justice.

Through 52 games this season, the 27-year-old Blatche is averaging 11.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals in just a hair over 22 minutes a game.

Meanwhile, Puno withdrew a similar bill filed for the naturalization of JaVale McGee. The Denver Nuggets center is out indefinitely with a fractured tibia and has only seen action in five games this season.

Should plans not miscarry, Blatche will give the Philippine an alternative to Marcus Douthit, the 33-year-old naturalized American who has been the country's main center since 2010.

The Philippines qualified for the FIBA World Cup, slated for the end of August until the middle of September after placing second in the FIBA Asia Tournament last year. If tapped, Blatche could see action in that tourney. - AMD, GMA News

wala pa po final,

may 17-man pool lang na kasali sa pagpipilian para sa final roster,

lahat ng kasali sa team sa FIBA Asia last year (Alapag, Tenorio, Castro, Fonacier, Chan, Norwood, David, de Ocampo, Pingris, Aguilar, Fajardo and naturalized player Douthit) + Belga, Lassiter, Dillinger, Slaughter, Lee & Blatche (kung mafinalize nung naturalization niya)

House committee approves naturalization bill of Andray Blatche.

Appearance na lang sa Philippine embassy ang kulang, Filipino citizen na siya!

Yung mga utak talangka sa Facebook, internet, etc., mga gunggong kayong lahat! "Puro daw import ang Gilas." Eh di import pala sina Fajardo, Tenorio, Chan, Pingris, etc.? Kung makapagsalita sila kala nila lahat ng team sa buong mundo walang import tapos tayo lang meron.

Anlaking bagay talaga itong pagsali natin sa World Cup. Parang tune-up game na rin ito para sa next tournament natin w/c is Asian Games. Pinakatarget natin dito ay maka-ginto. 5 days after FIBA World Cup, Asian Games naman sa Incheon.

Yung mga Asian counterparts natin except Korea and Iran, magtiyaga sila sa Jones Cup

Mas ok sana kung i-pull out na ung mga Gilas player sa PBA para mas mahabang preperation nila.

Kung ung mga friendly match against other country parang kalaban mo na din ung mga nasa World Cup. May nabasa din ako na kung pwede daw ay maging guest team ung Gilas sa PBA para magsilbing training nila para sa Asian Games.

agree ako dyan. kaya lang di ata papayag ang PBA at ang mga team owner. malakingkawalan kasi ang mga star player nila. Pero dapat maisip nila na para sa bayan naman ang ginawa nilang pagpapahiram sa mga players nila.

Business parin po kasi yan ayaw nila malugi at baka wala na manood pag nawala mga star player lam nyo ganyan ang pinoy.
