@awinahe, Yes, it is fast because I don't have controller.... and I won't have one as long as I can monitor closely my battery bank... ok lang!

mga sir good day.

My solar panels are like yours 12 to 19 volt... any charger goes up to 19 volts to charge a battery.... my batteries are one year old na and I have no problem... they retain the charge the same than when they were brand new... I check once a month the water level... I never add one drop as it never changes... The thing is, I don't wait for my bat to be charged before using it... there is always a load... I just let them charge in the morning (up to 13 volt) and then plug something. At around 4/ 4:30 pm, I stop the charging by switching off my panels... then I let my bat settle down until 7 pm... that's when I start running on solar up to 12 am... My batteries, in the morning, are most of the time, still 80 % full... except when the weather is bad (for example, it rained yesterday, so this morning my bat were 70% full) and in case a heavy rain, I have at least 2 days backup power....Not having a controller is, for me, not a problem as there is always someone at home to monitor the bat.... in case there is nobody home, I just turn off the panels (I have enough backup power)... The power of my panels are half the capacity of my bat that's why I decided to try without a controller... and I don't see any problem up to now
Nice info about ups, thanks... I'm very stupid when it comes to talk about ups coz I never use one or open one :slap:

Re: You want to make your own home solar? Pasok! Pictures ad

... "so all the computations you can make will just give you an approximation" (from ma'am TS) .... ganyan din experience ko... example noong bago pa ang battery matagal syang ma-discharge... after one year... mabilis nang ma-discharge ang battery di na katulad ng dati... therefore, dapat talaga test mo sya gamitin in reality, tapos monitor mo using the digital multimeter or the battery indicator of the controller or the battery indicator of the inverter.

one time, nag-test ako kung ilang oras ko magagamit ang 35W electric fan using 150W inverter (modified sine wave) with 12Ah battery... umabot sya ng 3 hours bago nag-beep indicating low voltage.

... plst test your 65W electric fan, tapos post mo dito ang result.

After 3 to 6 hours rest (no charge, no load) 12.70 volts is 100% charged
Please check the chart in the 1rst page to have all the voltages while charging, with or without load... and page 21 there is a chart also.

While charging and while using your fan, if your bat voltage is around 12.8 at around 3 pm... just stop your fan to allow your bat to recharge properly before the sun goes down so you will have full bat at night...

yes... if you don't use any appliances you turn off the inverter

yes you can use the inverter while charging.... for your setup, you need a switch (or see the pic in the first page: I use an old fuse box without fuse as switch) This switch must be between the battery and the solar panel (to avoid the electricity to go back at night to the panel and to switch off in case your battery is overcharged) then, your breaker must be put ONLY on the positive line of the inverter and battery... don't forget, you need a digital tester, always connected to your bat to monitor the voltage.

nice thread..

Thanks :salute:

don't panic hehe... I think it's normal because you are using a controller + 5 w.... There is no shade on your panels? can you see if they are totally under the sun?... normally you see the voltage going up... wait 30 minutes pa...
your inverter is off dba?

100% n wlang shade ung panel q is 8 am,, ndi q kc napansin ung mangga ng kapit bahay nmin d2 kya from sun rise ndi p nsisinagan ng araw ung panel q liwanag lng,,
mya 10 am q tingnan to goes up n mag normal ung volt q hehe:clap:,,nlito nman ako sir haha:lol:, iba ang 1st time eh,,ndi alam ang ggwin haha

Re: You want to make your own home solar? Pasok!

1st picture

18.8V DC cover lahat ng panel ng rubber puzzle

2nd and 3rd picture

22.6V DC 11 am partly cloudy sky no cover ang panel

hmmmmmmm,

wow... very nice! Magkano gastos mo? How long time to make it? how many watts? how many cells?

still running your fan ?
