How to make your own home solar. With Pictures + solar book

@ tristanWS,
Tracer 2210A model 20A,
Rated Charge Power Max.PV array Power
260W @ 12 v 780W @ 12V
520W.@ 24V 1560 @ 24V

Thank you for sharing your cooking experiment! So do you cook everyday your rice on solar? Baby insects in your controller??

Good am. Balak ko din bumili ng AC charger, but I have no experience about its operation. Puede bang magcharge si solar simultaneously with the AC charger? In other words, wala na bang gagalawin sa setup except connect the AC charger? Makulimlim nga dito sa amin due to the typhoon, although nag-charge nang kunti. How about if the batteries are connected in parallel? One by one po ba ang charging o sabay-sabay na without removing the connector? Salamat

sa akin ay pa-isa-isa lang ang pag-charge... ang AC charger kasi ay rated in charging amperes... since 10A lang ang AC charger ko, then max of 100AH battery lang ang pwede kong i-charge (10% of 100AH = 10A)...

if compared to a powerstar W7 for 12V battery, the charging amperes is 70A, therefore kaya nya i-charge up to 700AH capacity... please correct me if my readings is wrong)... (powerstar W7 for 12V battery is charger/psw inverter, price is 14K).

Totoo iyan Sir Dondowyn84. Ako at marami pang members dito nagsimula out of nothing.

Thank you all for these nice comments :) I'm very happy to know that this thread is helpful for some, this was my aim. Although, I'm not an expert in solar (far from it) and I don't have all the answers, I'm always happy to share my experience and little knowledge. A special Thank You to Sir Tristan who never stop helping people in this thread :salute:

:weep::weep::weep::weep::weep:
After 5 years of good and loyal service, one of my batteries died... R.I.P... :weep:

I notice yesterday that the voltage was not right in the morning... check the water and found out that one had almost no more water! After refill and recharge on solar (still connected to the battery bank), this morning the voltage was only 12.52... we did not use our solar yesterday and the batteries were not fully recharged because of the weather, but still...
After removing the battery from the battery bank and checking the voltage of each cell. it appears that there is a short... the battery voltage is now 10.97... patay na talaga :weep:

Anyway, this will give the chance to experiment with it... First I will try a desulphatation but I'm not very optimistic about it! Will try also to drop it to break the sulphate and last I will convert it to alum battery...

Now I'm expecting my 2 other batteries not to last very long so we must save to buy new ones

^ assuming that the daily DoD is 25% for 5 years, the energy generated is worth Php 6,570.00... pwede nang ibili ulit ng new battery.

25% of 120AH = 30AH x 12V = 360Whr x 365days = 131,400Whr x 5years = 657KWhr x 10pesos = Php 6,570.00

The price of 1 Kwh in Palawan is around 13 pesos (see, we are very lucky to have Malampaya :ranting:)!! For now I think that we will just keep our 2 last batteries until they die coz I don't want to buy a brand new one and add it to my battery bank (they are too old already)... when they will be all dead , it will be time to invest at least in 2 new ones!

CTEK D250S DUAL Universal 12-Volt Battery Charger - Multiple 12-Volt DC Power Sources

The above diagram illustrates the D250S receiving input current from both a solar panel and an alternator and charging a service battery. The charger is made just for situations in which no AC power is available, making it great for the marina, farm or any remote place not connected to the grid.

yup... applicable pa... although I could add a paragraph about hybrid inverters... but I'm lazy  Anyways, if you have any question, don't hesitate to ask!!

Nice one! Interesting concept but a bit expensive!
