One of the fundamental beliefs of Christianity is that Jesus had died and that his blood which was shed on the cross was meant to wipe away the sins of man. In other words Jesus had died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. Imagine if this is not true. Millions of people have placed their eternity on a lie. What kind of lie is this? Who would be a more pious person logically, the one who believes someone has died for his sins and that he is saved or the one who believes they are accountable for their actions and that they will be judged for their deeds? Let us investigate this topic from the Bible, and find out whether Jesus was sent to be crucified or that he was crucified:
1. Willingness of Jesus Christ to Die for Our Sins:
did you know that jesus is god-man? they refer to it as hypostactic union. he is 100 percent god and 100 percent man.
what does that mean?
a human is weak. and thus, at some point, you can see jesus being weak. a human desires for food, thus you see jesus craving for food.
you need further explanation?
indeed....
in his human nature, jesus wanted not to die. but he knows his purpose of coming to the world and thus, he prophesied that he will raise himself in 3 days. which means, he knew he will die.
2. God Answered the prayers of Jesus Christ:
did you know that jesus is a prayerful man?
was that the only time that jesus prayed?
that verse youve presented did not proved anything. it could be another prayer... it doesnt have to be his prayer in Gethsemane.
it was prophesied in the old testaments that he will die
3. The Post Crucifixion Prophesied Events never happened:
dont compare our callendar with the old jew's calendar.
you might find it interesting that the full day is evening first.
so it means, he died thursday night (which is friday), and rose sunday morning, which makes 3 days and 3 nights.
friday (thursday night and friday morning) - first night and first day
saturday (friday night and saturday morning) - 2nd day and night
sunday (saturday night and sunday morning) - 3rd day and night
that completes the calenday ------ 3 days and 3 nights

the law demands a sacrifice for sin and thus jesus, being the spotless sheep, died to bear the sins of the world.
For the life of a creature is in the blood , and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life. (Leviticus 17:11, NIV)
