ang pansin ko sa MacOS parang Lunux o Ubuntu lang din. yung paggamit ng terminal like su commands, etc.

Tama po, dahil pareho po sila ng "ninuno". Pareho po silang mula sa UNIX. In fact, Linux is commonly termed as "Unix-like" (mala-Unix). Mac OS is UNIX-based naman. :)

:: Hi Mam Prescilla ok na pu yung problem mo nafix mo na po? or you did another re-install ng ubuntu?:hat:

I did re-install Ubuntu but downgraded to Natty. I think ayaw ni Precise sa akin :slap:
Seriously, last time ako na nag re-install ng Precise okay naman pero the next day hd0 out of disk na naman.
Now, this is my third day with Natty, so far, it's working smoothly.
Just finished downloading Kubuntu, might give it a try...;)

Before, Windows XP gamit q way back nung college. Then nag Windows 7 Ultimate.

Then nung nag-aral aq Com Tech dun aq na expose sa ibang OS tried Linux Ubuntu 10 then nagus2han q. Dual-boot with Windows 7.

We own a computer shop at ginawa q multi-os Windows 7/ubuntu 12.04/Linux Mint 13. So pag gaming Windows 7 pinapagamit q then pag internet ubuntu or mint coz i find them faster pagdating sa browsing.

What i hate about Windows is that it's prone to viruses of any kind. Who owns a licensed copy of Windows anyway?? Sa totoo lang never aq gumamit ng licensed it's either gumamit ng serial ng me serial or crack which i know is not legal.

Anyway marami cguro kokontra skn pra right now i'm into ubuntu and trying to make it my primary OS.

Reasons:
- It's totally free.

- I can update anytime without getting the f*cking your copy of your
OS is not genuine.

- It's more secure than Windows. Actually, everytime my Windows if
being infected by virus i can just boot to ubuntu and manually delete
it just that simple.

- And it's Faster. Cleaner. Lighter.

I've created this thread to initiate a discussion (debate) on different Operating Systems available today. Have you tried any other OS besides the (overrated) Windows? If so, share your insights.

Ma'am try mo ubuntu 12.04 (^_^) v
I'm using it and almost forgot Windows if not for my games.

Right now i'm trying to figure out to run some of my games using Wine/PlayOnLinux.

I also have Linux Mint 13 Maya on the same machine bale Tri-OS (Windows 7-ubuntu 12.04-Linux Mint 13). About sa Linux Mint ok nmn xa pag sanay ka sa Windows di kna mahihirapan kc ung interface parang Windows (nasa baba ung taskbar).

Sa ubuntu mejo iba pro so far xa ang mas gamit q kc mabilis at gus2 q ung interface nya. Ung iba ayaw nila sa Unity desktop ng ubuntu pro skn ok lng xa. Actually mas gus2 ng mga costumer nmn sa shop kc mas mabilis daw which i agree.

Glad to know you were able to make your business successful even when using Linux on the machines. :) There were others kasi who tried before but were not as successful.

I think i've found my dearest OS MINT13+openbox
----dude ayoko kay archlinux ang daming i configure(no spare time for that)

Na try ko si archbang with openbox as default WM(good resources usage). Nice OS but still equally nice to my openbox running inside mint13.

Ito na ako ngayon die hard to mint 13+openbox WM(using compton instead of xcompmgr).

very light WM but still not sacrificing beauty......hehehehe

Ako po. :)

May tutorials po dun sa Ubuntu Tutorials thread. Pero...sadya pong hindi ko ginawan ng tutorial for file sharing in BackTrack. It defeats the purpose sir. Kung ganun lang po dapat regular Ubuntu na lang po ang gamitin. BackTrack is a "remixed Ubuntu" to cater for digital forensics and Information Security. It is designed to be "very closed" in terms of security. File Sharing is, in concept, not in line with the objectives of BackTrack. Is there a specific reason sir why you want to do file sharing with a Linux distro that is designed to help you become "unseen", or...(Heaven forbid) I hope this will not be used to transmit malicious files to a victim PC. Typically kasi yung mga gustong gawin ito, yun ang objective nila.
:: Hehehe dude, that was actually my observation sa mga linux distro's na medyo for intermediate>advance users, medyo time consuming, pero you'll learn much dahil you'll spend more time configuring, compiling and managing apps, packages, scripts, etc., para mameet mo yung gusto mong system, fast, minimal, +hardware compatibility(since apps are compiled based on you hardware) and stability(which might not be an issue), medyo madami-daming aral gagawin mo.. hahaha..:hat:

:: Dami gumagamit nyan dito, kaso di mo binasa siguro yung "about backtrack" and other info's about it. if you have read about backtrack before using it, malalaman mo na Ubuntu-based yan, so what works on Ubuntu will/might also work on backtrack. medyo yung search mo generalized to backtrack lang, try broadening it(applying work-arounds)... at sundin mo yung suggestion ni sir topet, backtrack works good if you stay on live medium(cd/dvd or usb), untraceable.
~patience is a virtue.. hahaha:hat:

Hi jer, musta? Sorry can't help you much on that. I haven't tried Arch yet, but I've come across the following threads that might help you:
