The Nintendo 3DS

Fire Emblem Awakening Demo now available!

...well, we pretty much all know what a 3DS is, now that it's here. i should probably put here some relevant information, so i'll try to glean/borrow/copypasta any useful stuff i see sa GBAtemp, mwahaha.

of course, i'll give proper credits. that's a given. so yeah, if you have one, good for you. if you don't, well, come in and maybe we can convince you to get one. everybody needs someone, especially if you want your Mii rescued, mwahaha.

Current available colors are Cosmo Black (2 or 3-toned gradient? not sure) and Aqua Blue (some say it has around 5 tones of gradient, and looks classy). Also, Flare Red should be available in stores now (see images). There are special bundles available online, like the Legend of Zelda 3DS which is a Cosmo Black with gold filigreed, the Monster Hunter 3G bundle, and many others incoming. Also, Ice White should be available soon. Then there's Pink, and then the upcoming Fire Emblem Awakening Cobalt Blue bundle, among others. Basta, madami nang mga colors available, hehe.

Current Notable Games available (um, off the top of my head):
Super Street Fighter IV 3D
Samurai Warriors Chronicles

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell
Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D
Resident Evil Revelations

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
Dead or Alive: Dimensions
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked
Starfox 64 3D

Super Mario 3D Land
New Super Mario Brothers 2
Paper Mario Sticker Star

Tales of Abyss
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns 3DS
Harvest Moon 3DS: A New Beginning
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy

Mario Kart 7
Freaky Forms (eShop)
Pushmo (eShop)
Crashmo (eShop)
The Denpa Men: They Came In Buckets (I mean, They Came In Waves! hehe)
Nano Assault (kinda hard to find, but an updated version, Nano Assault EX will be released on the eShop)
Dr. Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights
Mighty Switch Force (eShop)
VVVVVV (eShop)
Pet Zombies
Cubic Ninja
Fluidity: Spin Cycle (eShop)

...and tons of other stuff that I can't seem to remember now. Just read the rest from other gaming sites, like Kotaku or Siliconera.

eShop is good in that you can buy stuff from it (apps and DSiware games), but there are also DSiware that are free and is often a good idea to get. You also get, tada, 3D movie trailers for download! How awesome is that? You get a taste of how 3D Hollywood films will look on that lovely little gadget you're holding (or fantasizing about) right now. The first update takes a while though, so you better have a stable connection, else you'll start from scratch (no resuming system updates, sorry).

If you're enjoying the 3D pictures, you can go here to find more. just put them in their own directory sa root ng SD card, and keep note of the 3DS file naming format (AAAA1111.mpo, where AAAA is any 4 letter word and/or underscore, and 1111 is any 4digit number), and it should be fine. try not to add too many .MPO files at any one time, as it takes a while for the 3DS to recognize and index them all.

OH YEAH.

There are converters out there that can convert 3D movies for playback on the 3DS. try it out. super sulit, ahaha. pero in fairness, kahit sanay na mata ko napagod din, so keep that in mind. good thing is, the converted clips are broken into 10 minute segments-- think of this as a Chapter select feature. you can play back from which segment you left off, no need to seek inside a single huge file, which makes for faster and more efficient seeking. you'll know it's a 3D movie if you play it back on WMP and you see two side-by-side images

so, sa ngayon, yan muna. enjoy mga 3D DISGUSTING PIGS. joke.

3DS is now Customizable!! (installable with CFW)

(only works on <=10.3 firmware versions)

anyways sundan nyu dito paano magdowngrade mula 10.3 to 9.2

https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial...pdater.407924/

https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial...nd-2ds.390867/

Re: Nintendo 3DS

ganda , but I guess it can wait, hmm mga a year after the release nalang siguro ko bibili, alam nyo naman may lahi kasi kong pirata, and siyempre lalabas pa yung mga enhanced version just like ds/dsl/dsi and psp phat/psp slim/psp3000 ..

Re: Nintendo 3DS

talagang may thread na eh no, hehehe

ayun sa nabasa ko sa e3, disney digital 3d movies pa lang daw yung magiging available for download sa nintendo store kung ilabas yan since nagkaroon na ng partnership ngayon nintendo saka disney

in other side, may ginagawa nang technology sa psp para magmukha ding 3d yung mga games sa psp, have you heard v screen?

http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/17/realviews-v-screen-for-psp-review/
http://www.realview.ie/

Re: Nintendo 3DS

ahaha, i made this thread RIGHT AFTER nung E3.

T_T sayang, na-cancel ung sa DS. technology-wise, it's NOTHING NEAR THE 3DS principles, which work on a special LCD that displays 2 different images PER EYE (ung resolution nyang 800x240, dibale 400x240 per eye un, ginawa lang nilang 800x240 total res). Sony (and maybe Microsoft) will have to figure out how the 3DS works or develop an entirely new way of displaying 3D to be able to jump on Nintendo's bandwagon.

OT: natawa ako sa bata. nung sinabi nyang "bakit di ka nagya-yakult?" naisip kong spelling... "Jakult". ^_^ bastos na bata.

@ferofax

1. What is the V-Screen?

The V-Screen is a unique screen accessory for the Sony® PSP™ handheld game console, offering gamers a terrific leap in optical enhancement. It uses pioneering optical technology to add a feeling of greater depth to all PSP games and videos. PSP users who have a V-Screen can experience this effect, and have more exciting and realistic experiences. This ground-breaking technology, referred to as “Depth Enhancement Technology”, produces an effect that’s similar to 3D, but different in that you feel you are being drawn into the full depths of the action.

2. How does this technology work?

The “Depth Enhancement Technology” used in the V-Screen is based on a revolutionary breakthrough from RealView’s optical engineers. While exploring new technology for astronomy and medical imaging, they discovered how to further change their properties of special optical devices during the manufacturing and assembly processes. The resulting technology gives the viewer more depth signals. The technology is patented and RealView has numerous additional patent applications ready to file.

eto pala video ng engadget about v-screen

Re: Nintendo 3DS

whew! nice!

let's just wait until it's release..

di mawawala ang comparison syempre for future handhelds of Sony...

Re: Nintendo 3DS

naw, they're just using smart marketing, twisting a magnifying lens and calling it a "depth enhancement" chubaloo. it just blooms the image up, and the "depth" comes from the natural zooming up of the PSP screen. the 3DS works on the principles of stereoscopy, which uses two identical images at slightly different angles, one for each eye. the brain processes them and interweaves them, producing a single image with realistic depth. you CANNOT achieve this holographic effect using JUST one image (which is on the PSP screen), nor can you achieve this effect by just magnifying that image.

stereoscopy is exactly the reason why 3D movies works with them 3D glasses. the lens filters out the light meant for the other eye so that it receives only the image meant for it, meaning the left eye sees the image for the left, and vice-versa.

...about naman dun sa 3D movies, Disney, DreamWorks and Warner Bros are currently partnered with Nintendo about the movies, so chances are marami na ring maglalabasang movies para dito as the months go by. i just hope they get Twentieth Century Fox in that list, para sa Avatar, ehehe. sana paglabas nito, may available nang downloadable 3D movies, but unless magkaroon ng 3Dplayers/3DTVs in the coming months, malabo mangyaring may marelease na 3D movies online (unless may mag-leak nito, ehehe).

Re: Nintendo 3DS

Re: Nintendo 3DS
