Re: [Official] Samsung Galaxy Note II <<N7100>>
Sir Monyo and sir Hero, i agree with most you have said, i believe "4G/LTE" in the Philippines to date is just a marketing ploy when the reality is its just 3.5G in its purest technical definition. Smart "LTE" i think and what i have read for the most part is only in the 2100 MHz range and you will fall back to 3g if your fone's LTE radio doesnt have it.
Higher bandwidth has higher signal throughput but lesser obstacle penetration meaning if you're in a basement somwher your reception wont be that good while lower bandwidth has lower throughput but greater penetration if you know what i mean..wink! wink!

Sir one quickie battery check test. remove battery from fone, find the most flat surface you can find preferably a glass table, then lay your battery flat and spin it.
I prefer clear. yung matte kasi nakaka-apekto ng color ng display based on my experience (S2). let me be clear here, it doesn't affect your phone per se but the display changes color due to the screen protector's matte effect. medyo dumidilim sya.
gamit ko yung Vshield screen prot by zagg. medyo mahal nga lang at 800 petot for the screen only. but tried and tested ko na rin warranty nila since my N97 & Satio days (2009)
Smart actually is tri-band and almost (except American, chinese, LTE-A, japanese variants) all phones are compatible with their network. pero... pag lumabas ka ng 2100mhz na frequency, syempre mas mababa makukuha mong throughput. but you'll still receive the 4G/LTE signal and they still offer better throughput performance against the competition. I've seen speedtest screenshots that almost reach the advertised 42mbps. also, hindi pa rin fully operational ang 1800 at 850 mhz frequencies nila (test phase).
very limited talaga ang area of coverage nila... swerte nga lang at na-upgrade ang Globe cellsite malapit sa bahay. kahit paano may 2 bars ako ng LTE and I get around 3-10mbps of throughput. on some areas where they offer excellent coverage (mga pangmayaman), the fastest I got was around 27mbps on speedtest.
And take note dalawang klase ang 4g. 4gH+ and 4gLTE. theoritically ang h+ is sakop pa rin ng 3g(which is 3.5g) but as for marketing name they considered h+ as 4g.
