guys, patulong naman po! new SGM owner here, at i have to say napaka komplikado ng android para sakin, hehe. noob na noob pa me pagdating dito. ask ko lang, need pabang i-root muna ang unit natin bago makapag install ng apps? or needed ba talaga ang pag root sa new SGM? any tutorial po on installing sa unit natin? am still on froyo now, advisable ba na update ko sa GB? di rin pala sya plug and play pag connect ko sa PC, ung kies may problem daw e, am thinking baka sa specs ng PC ko, kaya ganun, and lastly, ano-ano po ba ang mga recommended na apps, pati mga must have nyo. sobrang dami kasi e, kakalula mga apps ng android, hehehe. thanks in advance guys!
Para mapadali ang pag install ng openvpn for gingerbread, gumawa ako na lang po ako ng update zip file. Instructions below -
Pre-install
1. Download the attached openvpnsetup.zip and copy it TO THE ROOT of your SD card
2. Kung may currently installed OpenVPNSettings, paki uninstall na lang muna
3. Siguradahin na existing yung 'bb' folder sa /system/xbin. Kung wala pa, paki create na lang using root explorer
Install proper (same procedure as rooting gingerbread)
1. Turn off phone. Go into recovery mode by pressing and holding the Home + Power buttons. Release buttons when you see the Samsung logo
2. Once you are in recovery mode you will get lot of options on screen. In recovery mode touchscreen does not work, so use the volume up/down buttons to toggle through options. To confirm options press the middle button
4. Go to the second option i.e apply update from SD card
5. Upon selecting the second option you will need to select the file 'openvpnsetup.zip'. Press the middle button to apply changes
6. It takes 2-3 seconds to install the update
7. Once the above step is complete, select the reboot option
Post install (configure OpenVPNSettings)
