wala na tayong matatanggap na update.
yung manufacturer kasi ng SoC (processor) out of business na kaya wala ng official support
kung gusto nyo ng higher versions ng android, you need to unlock your bootloader and flash a custom rom.

in other news, yung Xperia S ko patay na
well, nasira yung LCD.. parang nabutas ata yung display at nagkaroon ng itim na section, then lumaki hanggang sa diameter ng daliri, tapos naging puti na lang ang screen (except for the black area)
accessible pa ang recovery at mukhang working pa ang digitizer, pero halos puti na lang ang screen at halos wala ka ng maaninag na image

may bago tayong Android 5.0 Rom, kaso available lang sa mga unlocked bootloader and AOSP based builds. meaning, yung ibang features ng xperia, wala doon.

pano po un? pano po ako mag reflash? di ko ma access ung fastboot, or even ung recovery ko po, pc companion is gagana lang pagopen ang phone po? bootloop po ako eh, may back up po ako, so i just need to access the recovery

Sony Xperia S was recently updated to 6.2.B.1.96 firmware and as usual, those who were rooted might have found their device no longer having root privileges. But now, we have a solution for this problem and if this is what you were looking for, look no more and read on.
I. Before You Begin
1. This procedure only works on the Sony Xperia S running 6.2.B.1.96 firmware only; do not try this if you have anything older on your device.
2. As always, back up everything you care about and charge your device to 75% or more before you start.
3. This procedure works both on locked and unlocked bootloaders.
II. Necessary Downloads
1. flashtool-0.9.11.0-windows.exe (http://d-h.st/Kb8)
2. XperiaS_LT26i_6.2.B.0.211_KernelOnly.ftf (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44918676&postcount=1)

3. DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v18_perf-event-exploit.zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44918676&postcount=1)
III. Flashing the Rootable Older Kernel
1. Double-click on flashtool-0.9.11.0-windows.exe you downloaded above and follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
2. Copy the XperiaS_LT26i_6.2.B.0.211_KernelOnly.ftf file you downloaded above to C:\Flashtool\firmwares on your harddrive.
3. Open the Flashtool application after installation and click on the Flash icon (the one with the thunder symbol).
4. You should be presented with two options: Flashmode and Fastboot Mode. Select Flashmode.
5. Choose XperiaS_LT26i_6.2.B.0.211_KernelOnly.ftf and click on OK. Follow the on-screen instructions on how to boot your device into fastboot mode and connect your device. Also, make sure “No Final Verification” is marked.
6. Reboot device.
IV. Rooting the Xperia S
1. Enable USB Debugging on your device. You can do this by heading to Settings > Development Options > USB Debugging and checking the tickbox next to it.
2. Enable installation of non-Market applications. To do this, go to Settings > Security and check the Unknown Sources tickbox.
3. Connect your device to your Windows PC. At this point, ensure that the Flashtool is not running; if it is running, exit it and check the task manager for any other instances of it running and end them.
4. Extract the DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v18_perf-event-exploit.zip that you downloaded above to a folder on your desktop.
5. From the extracted folder, double-click on runme_win.bat to run the DooMLoRD tool.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions and wait for the process to be complete.
Reboot your device and check that the SuperSU app is installed on your device. If it is, you are now rooted!


Try mu to..after mu mflash ulit pwede ka mgreflash ng ibang OS. sundan mu nalang yung ibang instruction s software..common sense and observe k dapat..sana makatulong..be patient ka din..nagamit ko na to madaming beses na s xperia s ko..ang pinaka best n O.s for me eh yung pureslim 4.4.2 and ihacker..4.4.2..mkunsumo sa ram yung iba..i've tried nadin ung android 5.2 pero grabe s ram..madali makalowbat..wag k lang magmamadali kasi baka magkamali ka..

gusto ko po i-root phone ko xperia s, kaso di ko alam kung factor ba yung jellybean os ko kc ics lang ang nkasulat e.

Pwede po ba pa explain nag mas madili intindihin po ito meron kasi mga pinagawa na di ko alam like Flashtool Flashmode..

Ang flashtool po ay ginagamit sa pag flash ng ROMs and kernels using the PC if wala pang recovery mode ang phone. In entering flashmode, turn off yung phone then hold yung volume down then saksak yung usb cable. After that may green light indicator meaning nasa flashmode ka na.

mga bossing help nman po kasi nagautomatic update ung xperia SL LT26i ko, tpos bglang nag dsabled ung wifi ung kahit open mu sya ayaw nya gumana. tpos sinubukan ko na po iflash ng XperiaS_LT26i_6.2.B.1.96_1257-6919 at nag gingerbread nrin po ako pero olats prin sana po my mkatulong thanks po ng marami
