Starmobile ASTRA - Root and CWM based Recovery

nag bo-boot loop ba sir? nakapag flash ka ba ng CWM bago mo i factory reset?

yes boot loop lang.nkagflash ako ng cwm pero ipinagtataka ko hndi po gumagana yung power button+volume up.bukas pa kasi bukas ng service center baka out of warranty na po kasi.cnubukan ko po mag sp flash tool kaso parang kulang yung files ko para ma flash cwm.

mga bossing tnung ko lng bkit parang ndi msyadu sikat ang starmobile astra tska wla syang solo thread na mdming suporter?? tnung lng nman o sikat lng tlga yung iba kc nkikita sila sa tv?

@fabricantlevy

nag-full unroot kc ako using super su, tpos sabi sa instruction, mag-clo-close daw yung app kung successful. eh hindi siya nagclose... so ang ginawa ko, nag-factory reset ako using yung sa phone formatting pati yung phone storage. ayun, nagbootloop na lang... :(

try nyo instead power button + volume up, power button + volume down, meron din don reboot, bka sakali magboot up na ang phone.. please reply kung nag ok na..

negative, boot loop pa rin using yung restart ng power button + volume down (para ma-select yung restart, tap on the "home" menu--hindi gumagana sa power button)

ano ano paba meron don sa menu aside from restart? bka may clear dalvik don..

Maraming salamat po talaga..so happy to be astra user

:weep:

@redtagblogger,
diba naka cwm pa recovery mo, parang meron akong nakita flashable zip for su update somewhere sa thread na to or sa xda siguro yun. hindi ko rin natry kasi di ko pa naexperience yan. pero search mo na lng baka maroot pa uli phone mo..

thanks sa suggestion @bealac .. i really appreciate it...

--hehe :))

gusto ko i-try suggestion ni @bealac... rest muna ako, kanina ko pa tinatry tong phone na to ei but i'll monitor this thread. hopefully may super bait na mag-she-share ng kanilang update.zip ... ayaw ko kc magdownload sa net ei, baka kc iba yung file na madownload ko kesa dun sa required ng phone ko...

salamat ng marami sa lahat! :)) :upset:

mga sir REMINDERS lang ULIT...

if naka CWM RECOVERY na kayo, HWAG NA HWAG (A BIG DONT) KAYONG MAG FACTORY RESET USING THE SETTINGS MENU.

kung mag FACTORY RESET kayo, I-OFF NIYO ANG ASTRA nyo THEN ENTER KAYO SA CWM RECOVERY AND DON KAYO MAG RESET... look lang niyo sa mga post dito kung paano mag factory reset using the CWM RECOVERY...

ahhhmmm...

rooted lang ang astra ko, di pa ako nag install ng CWM. and naka swap na rin ang phone storage niya with the SDcard.

nong nag factory reset ako kahapon, wala namang side effects sa astra ko sir. ang ginawa ko, before ako nag reset, tinanggal ko muna ang SDCard ko then reset na. after ng reset, binalik ko na ang SDcard sa slot niya, ok naman siya. and kahit na reset ko na ang phone ko, naka swap pa rin ang phone storage niya with the SDcard and syempre rooted pa rin siya.

by the way, reset lang ginawa ko. di ako nag unroot sa SU.

Hi Everyone!

A month ago, I had rooted my Starmobile Astra and it was successful. Two days ago, I found out that you can swap the phone storage and the sdcard, which I did successfully. I'd like to use DroidVPN on my phone but it won't allow to successfully install the tun.ko... i decided to fully unroot my phone using the SuperSU but it was not successful. I then reset my phone thru android "settings". When I restarted it, i just got boot loop. Over time, I manage to bring my phone back but my wifi couldn't connect even to unsecured networks. I have tried so many things and it get to a point that my phone was stuck in Starmobile logo screen.

I decided to try my luck flashing the ROM using custome rom from i-mobile q2 duo. And guess what? It went just fine. My phone is now fully working and can connect to wifi with no problems.

I have learned a lot of things with this experience and I'm happy to say that I'm glad I had experience it. For those people who are in the same situation where you get boot loop or stuck with Starmobile starup screen and had rooted their phone using the instruction on page 1 of this thread, just follow these steps:

1. Download and save the custom rom for i-mobile-q2duo located on page 15 of this thread as posted by @onesaviour (http://d-h.st/Dfs)
2. Access CWM Recovery by holding the "power button + volume up"
3. Choose "mounts and storage" > mount USB storage (do not leave from that screen, else you'll unmount it)
4. Connect your phone to your computer. Your computer should recognize one of your phone storage.
5. Copy and paste the "i-mobile-q2duo_v22_r2.2.zip" to your phone storage. Do not unzip it.
6. Once done, on you phone, go back to the main screen of CWM Recovery by chooing "Go Back".
7. Choose "install zip from sdcard", then select "choose zip from sdcard" and locate the "i-mobile-q2duo_v22_r2.2.zip". It will now begin flashing your rom. Please do not interrupt the process.
8. Once done, go back to the main screen of your CWM Recovery and choose "reboot system" now.
9. You'll notice that your startup screen will have "i-mobile" instead of Starmobile. It is because the rom was from i-mobile based in Thailand. But that is just fine.
10. You'll also notice that LEDs are constantly lit up. You can turn it off in "Settings" > "Display"
11. Enjoy your newly revived phone! :))

Sidenotes: baka po meron kayong ROM na yung startup screen logo is from Starmobile at yung Model is Starmobile Astra kapag in-access yung "About Phone" under "Settings". Pa-upload naman please... thanks! :))

:praise:  :excited:
