Tips how to be motivated to code everyday

I'm working as a website developer and what motivates me to code is yung pagdedebug ng code. And kung starting ka palang sa programming especially website codings, start from the "very start" (html) w3schools.com helped me a lot.

Logic before Imagination . hehe tama si sir ditchx.

from experience ko naman sa work ko .. mas maganda na mamaster mo muna first yung logic tsaka critical thinking skills mo. Kasi kung meron ka nun, kahit di mo pa alam yung PL na gagamitin mo, mas madali mong matutunan yung kailangan mong gawin :] . another is , yung "Jack of all Trade, Master of none". tama rin yun. pero ok lang naman na basic or average lang alam mo sa mga PL, pero dapat may isang PL pa rin na masasabi mong above average yung level mo :] . Sabi din nung prof. ko nung college, "mas maganda mag improve horizontally, kesa vertically".

Same parehas tayo ate. Graduate ako Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, alam ko naman basic about programming, thesis namin halos ako ang nagcode para 3 group. Pagkagraduate ko, freelance agad as web developer for 3 months. Pagkatapos nun naligaw na ng landas ang tinapos ko. 2 years ako as admin more on accounting tapos ngaun 3 years sales-coordinator (admin ulit!!) dito sa Singapore.

Good luck sa career TS.

pareho tayo bro small company dn ako now working as developer dn mahirap tlaga eh hehe at nag gogoogle din ako pag may mali at di ko alam....
mag 1 yr na ko dito at blak ko pa mag stay for 1 yr again for experience ,,, ano prog lang gamt mo? hehe

I work as a programmer for two years na pagalingan lang naman talaga mag search sa google yan :) master the basic and google na iba hahaha goodluck ts if my mga tanung ka feel free to pm me if related sa programming :)

I was puzzled..huhu..i found myself googling history and uses of JavaScript now...

search ka ng sample program sa sourcecodester.com hanpin mo ung may CRUD any language.. read some notes from google.
tiyak mamomotivate ka basta every tym may gagawin kang program kapag may error or bug na lumabas try to solve it until na gumana nakachallenge
un.. good luck

For sure madadagdagan motivation mo into programming :)

Yup ts, watch k ng Scorpion series, Movies and TV series ang naging motivation ko pursue my web programming career, minsan talaga motivation ang problema. Isa pa i try to make connection with other people that working on the same career kung nsan ako, at ang result i found mentors ng naging motivator ko rin! :) keep it up dont lose your spirits!

Opo mga Master. Sa experience ko po naman it's not about what motivates you but how motivated you are.
And i'am not only talking to a simple motivation but much more deeper than that, it is called "Obsession"

Obsession is wanting something (or wanting to do something) so strongly it is all you can do or even think about.

In my case I only sleep for only 4 hours

This is my daily Schedule: Look how obsessed I am

6:00 AM - 7:00 AM :Computer Programming
7:00 AM - :Breakfast
7:20 AM - 11:30 AM :Computer Programming

12:00 Lunch Break

12:00 - 6:00 PM :Computer Programming

6:30 Dinner

7:00 PM - 2:00 AM :Computer Programming

For me! the best motivation is the commitment.
iwan ko sa iba, pero ako as a programmer ito ung nakikita kung way para ma motivate.
experience ko kc, my first practice to code, i talk to one of the secretary of an institution at ginawan ko
ngayon nag a update ako ng system dahil dih niya kayang
. at kung hindi man mag work kailangan kong mahanap
para walang reklamo yung school :)
thanks

So I need to grow everyday (in terms of skills and experience), kasi mas madami kang experience / skills, mas tataas ang value mo ^_^

Motivation for me is to improve my life and other people around me.Para may "pay back time" sa mga nagpa aral sa akin someday pag PRO na ako. Almost 3 years na ako as a programmer pero I'm still learning new languages,but I can't say I'm a PRO already. All in one na yan. Tama yung logic then imagination. Sa programming, dapat realistic at systematic. :) :)

Seriously? It goes to say, living is programming. Thanks for detailing your daily programming activity here. Highly appreciated. :)

Here are my tips:

* Don't break the momentum
* Get inspiration from others by reading their biographies/achievements (esp. well-known programmers)
* Set a goal
* Try and try until you succeed
* Enjoy/Love what you're doing
* Always challenge yourself
* J.A.P.A.N :)

"The best way to learn is by example. It really isn't enough just to look at it and say "Uh huh, yeah." Take some time to take it apart and rewrite the code yourself. Trial and error is always a good way of learning. It seems we learn more by our mistakes, this is also true for programming. Yes, you'll have many nights of frustration when your code just doesn't seem to run properly, but once that bug is found, you'll be dancing around like there's no tomorrow."

Thank you po, from time to time I've been reading this thread to remind me of my goal. Good luck to all of us!

Good day to all!

I am just a newbie here and in programming as well, despite that I am very excited and enthusiastic to learn programming languages still I feel that I am going nowhere, that I lost motivation and finding it anywhere.

I know most of the people here are really into programming and I just want to know their views/opinion how they keep the fire burning to write codes everyday.

I know I shouldn't wait for inspiration, because the mere result is enough to inspire me, but still...

Maybe this quite nonsense to those professionals but I hope someone can understand the feeling.

TS pwede bang magtagalog? haha hindi naman to graded recitation dba lol:rofl:
on my 3rd and 4thyear, 1st sem ko sa college masipag ako mag program as in naeenjoy ko sya d ko alam kung bakit. then ngayon nag iintern ako hindi ko na masyado nagagamit ung coding skills ko. hindi naman ako ganon kagaling, saktuhan lang :D all i can say is sinubukan kong itranslate sa english pero ang hirap kaya tagalog. haha! ung motivation mafifeel mo na un pag nagcocode ka na ung naeenjoy mo sya habang gingawa mo sya ung may gusto kang gawin pero d mo magawa tapos hahanap ka ng paraan para magawa mo. then ung pinaka masayang part is ung nagawa mo na ung gusto mo. be aware sa field natin kasi maraming bago at dapat matutunan. ienjoy mo lang sir/madam.

I truly understand what you are trying to say at salamat sa pagbibigay mo ng opinyon dito. Good luck sa intern!
