Anyway, its up to you. I can't assume what would be the best routing of them for your network. Somebody said Static is good so you can identify the ip address on each workstations and avoid ip address conflicts, Somebody also choose Dynamic(DHCP) because its easy to manage/assign ip address on each workstations, not pressure,. able the PC clients to request an unique ip address from the DHCP server.. it's depend on what would you preferably comfortable. Nevertheless, you could choose anyone of them, it doesn't matter what type of routing you will be used.

current connection ko ay PLDT. Edimax wired router tapos naka connect sa tatlong Dlink hub. naka konek kasi 10 pc units tapos 5 laptops.

Items: bale po sa hub Dlink 1 = pc 1-5
Dlink 2 = pc 6-10
Dlink 3 = 5 laptops

ngayon po, plano ko po magdagdag ng wireless router (planning to buy palang) and ang ilalagay ko na ISP ay tong PLDT. gusto ko po sana gawing PRIMARY ROUTER yung wireless router na bibilhin ko palang with PLDT as ISP at yung EDIMAX naman ay smartbro ISP. gusto ko po sana nasa iisang LAN lang sila para puwede parin mg connect pag LAN games and default connection ay PLDT lahat. magagamit lamang po si SMARTBRO (edimax) kapag nababagalan ako sa PLDT. gumagawa ako ng diagram gusto ko sana ipakita sayo. at baka puwede ninyo po ako tulongan if may mali ako.. tataposin ko po mamaya at iupload ko.

There's a different issues about that situation which you need to identify surely and apply the resolutions if possible.

What exactly the error? Did you still recognize it?

Anyway, just my insights.

- It could be file permissions within your XP towards your Windows Server. If you attempt copy or modify some files and suddenly there's an error exist. I guess you forgot to set the file permissions, like change, read, full and etc.

- Re-check your ip addresses between the two units. If they are in-line on network I'm pretty sure they could ping with each other but how about the gateway ip address? In peer-to-peer network, the gateway address should be the unit which you configure the Internet Connection sharing or the one you configure to begin a Peer-to-Peer network. For example, if you configure 1st the windows server to connect the Windows XP in Peer-to-peer network then the ip address of your Windows Server should be the gateway address of your Windows XP.

- Lastly, try to replace another crossover cable for it.

sir gagana naman po ung sa diagram nyo kaso kapag pinalitan nyo na po ng default gateway kunwari ung PC 1, 3 , 5 hindi na po cla naka network sa ibang workstation nyo..

ano po ba balak nyo kung pano nyo gagamitin c smart bro? change default gateway per computer or change connected router c hub?

Sir. Paano po sa case ko, nagegets ko po tutorial niyo, pero eto po kasi problem ko..

My WiFi router po kami from PLDT, may saksakan po siya ng LAN port sa likod,.. Nakasaksak po desktop ko directly sa lan port nung router, and my laptop obviously wireless.. Paano ko po kaya sila mapag ko-connect, napag iisipan ko pong static ang gamitin, pero nababagabag lang po ako kung same lang po ba procedures gayong wala naman po kaming switch, at hindi naman po namin kailangan ng ganun kalaki dahil dalawa lang naman ang nagco-connect, i'm planning to establish file sharing between them po kasi eh..

Kung gusto mo sila dalawa na magka connect.. Just make sure naka inline ang ip address nila in one specific network.

In your desktop and laptop.. pag ganito ang network 192.168.1.0 and gateway ip address 192.168.1.1

then the ip address would be on your desktop is 192.168.1.2 and for your laptop 192.168.1.3

besides dalawa lang naman end-user device mo then just perform static/manually assign ip address na lang.

after you assigned manually ang mga ip address nila.. try to ping between those devices pag nagreply that means they could communicate to each other.

sa pagkakaintindi ko kuya, dito ako magsisimula, sa pamamagitan ng pagpili ng Static IP Adress at paglalagay ng 192.168.1.0 sa "IP Address, at 192.168.1.1 sa gateway? how about sa subnet po?

then ill assign 192.168.1.2 sa desktop ko po, sa ganyang window? how about po yung subnet and default gateway po?

Besides Class C address ang gamit natin, so applicable dyan ang 255.255.255.0

Now sa router config mo kung yung example gateway ip address is 192.168.1.1 then yan ang e set mo sa router config mo.

IP Address: 192.168.1.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0 (since class C address eto ang default subnet)
Gateway: no need kasi ito yung maging default gateway sa end-user devices mo.

Sa End-user device mo. (desktop and laptop) diba sa TCP/IP Properties ang configuration ng ip addresses nila. So ganito lang yan.

Desktop

IP address: 192.168.1.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Laptop <-- ito optional na lang kasi kailangan mo pa e setup wireless access point ang router mo for WIFI,. either mag connect ka na lang sa WIFI and it will assign automatically an IP address in line with 192.168.1.0 network. (Pero kung gusto mo e wired connection itong laptop mo you may able assign statically ang IP address.)

IP address: 192.168.1.3
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Sana nakuha mo ito.

First of all, switch doesn't capable in routing and encapsulating the data to public sites back from the end-user devices.

it maybe possible na magka communicate kayo on your internal LAN but your end-user devices couldn't be access to internet..

Kung advice po.. eh di sundin mo na lang yung tutorial ko. That would be applicable

About the speed,. depende sayo kung ano services na ilalagay mo sa end-user devices mo. kung mag Online Games ka, then you need to apply a slightly huge speed. It could be depends on number of your units and services you want for your computer shop.
