@charmed19jess Yes there's a bit of romance in it. Although personally it was never about the relationships for me. It was about the whole plot of it, the story, and their struggle to fight for what was right.

@zelle1016 I'm totally in love with the series! And with Eugenides too. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this. I don't have the books though but I'll probably go look for them. The cover totally caught my eye - it's my type of book kasi. Will definitely read the next books. I'm so glad someone else loves it!

@decadence - diba diba...cleverly written, and elegantly delivered...super tagal ko na naghihintay for the 5th book..i've been searching for another series like this but haven't found one...and me too, that's what I felt when I saw the book on Goodreads, I got intrigued, and boy oh boy was I glad that I read it...hehe...naku its so hard to look for them, I found the King of Attolia (my fave) totally by accident, hence the kiss...and I love the covers too!, haha...

@decadence - Yes! Anna and The french Kiss' story is one of a kind talaga. Pag may time ka, read mo rin Lola and The Boy Next Door.. super different sa AATFK pero its good din in its own way.

@charmed19jess - yep meron naman. Although big part sya nung series, talagang you'll read the books for the thrill and adventure.


@zelle1016 - awww yep maganda yung mga next na books ni Julie James fave ko lang talaga JTSMA. Author nga pala na Trust in Advertising eh si Victoria Michaels, i just recommend it to Julie James fans kasi somehow, i can't explain pero meron silang similarities.

I've been hooked on ya lately so.. eto mga nabasa ko na i liked:

Going too Far - Good read.. maiksi yet insightful. Blue haired girl meets Mr.police officer. Hot.

Rock and a Hard Place - I love love love it! Its about a rockstar (parang jonas brothers nga eh) and a girl na hindi nanunuod ng tv so hindi nya alam na sikat si guy..ewan ko lang ha.. hehe, some would say na mejo over the top yung ibang scenes pero super nakakakilig kasi and yung story ng girl, it reminded me na hindi lahat ng family eh perfect. Tapos para pang movie yung ending.

Sophie & Carter - super short pero grabe, ang galing ng author na to. In such short scenes, napakita nya yung lives nila Sophie and Carter.. uhhh.. i can't explain it, you have to read it for your self.

Breathe - Hmm.. at first i wasn't sure about this novel. Mejo hindi kasi kapani paniwala. Yung pagkakasulat pa eh parang formal (hehe dunno, napansin ko lang). And then somewhere along sa gitna, okay na sya saken... tapos merong twist and naging okay na okay na okay na talaga sya. hehe. I fell in love... awwww

Hearts on a chain - rollercoaster of emotions again. Napaiyak ako, napasmile, napatawa, nainis (like i wanna pull out their hair). Eto na, eto na talaga to. haha. i know mejo dramatic in some sense yung novel but hey, its a really really good one. Domestic Violence kasi.. kaya talagang heat wrenching at some point. Pero full of love naman..

Angel/ Angel Burn - Great ya action/adventure/romance. First sa series pero hindi bitin unlike some. I love the thrill and yung story nila. Its kinda weird na angels and kalaban pero its okay.. tolerable naman.. can't wait for the next book to be posted.

@zelle: I actually stumbled upon this book in Fully Booked, but seeing as I had no money at that time, I couldn't buy it. I couldn't find it after so I hunted down the ebook. I've been craving a good read in a long while, and I've found it in this series. I cannot express how much I love it! I just read King of Attolia. The books just keep getting better and better. Megan Whalen Turner is a genius and her books, a masterpiece. It's definitely up there with my top favorite series (the others being Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Artemis Fowl and Percy Jackson. ).

Will read A Conspiracy of Kings soon! But I may have to hold off reading for a while. Finals is coming up. But you must tell me if you find another series like this!

@yche I will definitely read Lola and The Boy Next Door when I have the time. Btw you're such a fast reader! Haha

@charmed19jess I would definitely, without a doubt recommend the two series. Hope you love it as much as I do.

currently reading cassandra clare's mortal instrument book 1 going to book 2, no disappointment pa naman, ang nakakainis the fact na ang heroine and the guy happens to be siblings. arghhh.

On another note, The Son of Neptune is coming out tomorrow!! I hope I can find a copy somewhere online soon. I wish I could afford all the books I want!

@lycan0818 - i think i've posted it dati pero i'll post it again.. i advise you to stop at book 3 ng Mortal Instruments. Maganda nang ending yun. Book 4 is justt.. uhh.. i dunno. so so and uber nakakabitin. hehe.. in short, read at your own risk

nice discussion thread. gaganda ng binabasa niyo ah ako kasi puro non-fiction ngayon mostly computer stuffs huli ko'ng nabasa na fiction eh yung kay Lankmar at Charles de Lint Short novel.

I finished reading Son of Neptune and it's another great one from Riordan! Although I do wish Percy had gotten more credit in this book. And it happened a little bit too fast, but all good. Just sad that I have to wait until fall 2012 for the next one!

By the way, does anyone know where I can download historical fiction ebooks? I'm looking for To Serve a King by Donna Russo Morin and The Secret Lion by C.W. Gortner. I would appreciate greatly if someone could help

I finished reading Son of Neptune and it's another great one from Riordan! Although I do wish Percy had gotten more credit in this book. And it happened a little bit too fast, but all good. Just sad that I have to wait until fall 2012 for the next one!

Yep I thought so too..
I think that the second book on the Heroes of Olympus series was more focused on Frank Zhang ( a son of Mars/Ares) considering that the title was "Son of Neptune" .


I also found the events to be taking so fast..
like the fast forward button was on throughout the novel..

As for the 3rd book: The Mark of Athena, Riordan seems to be taking his own sweet time to finish the series. I've read that the last book will not be released until 2015..

So sheessh,.. good luck with that

@heartlessangel I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that! Those were the only disappointing things about the book. Personally, I would have wanted more of Percy! Considering he's been missing for the entire first book and it IS entitled after him.

And I don't mind waiting. I'll just need to find some other good reads until then. Haha.

I've read the reviews as well from those who have already finished The Son of Neptune, and they also found it a bit lacking compared to The Lost Hero.

Well as you've said, we can do nothing but wait..
Hmmm.. maybe you can recommend some good books to read?
Books that has similar story with Lorien Legacies, Harry Potter and Percy Jackson?

@heartlessangel The Alchemyst by Michael Scott is okay. not as great as HP or Percy Jackson. It starts picking the pace up in the second book.
