I started this thread to help everyone wanting a new computer. All you need to do is post the following:

usage:

other miscellaneous requirements:

*If to be used for gaming,. please indicate the games you wish to play.


The prices i will be using are those that come from major shops in gilmore and also PCexpress and others... The prices will only reflect that of which on the date of my post.

How to get to Gilmore:
commuting... From EDSA get on the MRT to Cubao and take the other train and get off at Gilmore station. so easy.
driving... Via aurora is the easiest way from EDSA. anyway, just ask na lang cos i dunno where you'll be coming from.

Hi. Please help me buy a computer for my son. He will be using it mainly for school and some games. He likes to play Dota and L4D. Our budget for the PC would be 20K. We already have a printer, monitor and speakers. Our monitor is a 17" CRT monitor. My son said he prefers 1gb video card.

@OhNow3p: isang hirit pa, er, kung mga 15k lang budget for cpu anu ang pwede palitan sa binigay mong parts na hindi naman masyado nasacrifice gaming quality?

walang akong VC satisfied naman sa graphics ng mga games na nalaro like COD4, crysis, worlds if conflict, CNC.

Sir pa-advice naman po ng magandang RAM for my PC...may RAM na to 2 GB kaso Single Stick at 6-6-6-something pa ang timing...

ano ba mas ok? mas mababa ang timings (4-4-----) tpos DDR2 800 o DDR2 1066 tpos nasa 5-5----ang timings?

actually now di pa ko mag-OOC..pero darating din ako jan pag nakabili nako ng magandang cooler

team extreem, you can't go wrong... 4500 ata 2x2gb dual channel kit ng Dark series...

yung 2x1gb naman ng team xtreem dark 2500. 4-4-4-12 @ 2V (eto gamit ko)

xtreem is better than xtreem dark dahil sa D9 micron chips which IMHO are the best overclocking memory chips EVER.

kung internet, HTPC and a little video/picture editing, follow na lang specs of redwing. go phenom quadcore if you like, pero IMHO, dual core is enough.


@redwing depends na sa iyo yun shempre. kung internal o external. expect to pay less than 2500 for 320gb internal SATA. SATA enclosures namna around 500-600 ata.


@padrepio
follow mo lang redwing's specs. or if you want, opt for EMAXX ANF82-Pro @3K.

oo mas maganda yung hindi dark. over 3K na yung xtreem. pero i think ok naman tong dark.. yung xtreem pang OC lang talaga.

pappy, 3K na lang yung 2x2gb team elites from my favorite memory seller., not really tight timings pero beter than yours CL 5

@redwing meron. mas mabagal ang internal dahil dumadaan pa ito sa communication bus, such as USB or firewire... kung lan or ESATA ok ang mga external except the enclosure for these 2 types is medyo mahal na.

Internal ka na lang.

no sis. old parts yan. as in very old parts. kung gusto mo meron acer na binebenta buo na, na walang kasamang monitor. yun ok pang home theater personal computer(HTPC). 17K siya pero kasama na orig na vista.

@iloveraine, mahal po yan kung yan lang 20K na. As in mahal!

Muntinlupa ka pala...
sa town center may PC Express. dun ka nalang bumili, dun mo na rin ipabuo para hindi ka mahirapan. mejo mahal nga don compared sa gilmore pero kung biyahe mo pa baka parehas lang ng presyo. bigay ko sa iyo spec for AMD first then intel.

Casing: ikaw na mamili. just don't forget to swap out the power supply(tell them upgrade ka, may discount yun)

Intel:
Processor: E2160 (or any intel dual core processor will do. yung swak sa budget ) ~ 3000
Motherboard: ECS G33T-M2L ~ 4170
Video Card: Inno3D 9500GT 512ddr3 dvi 128bit ~ 4120

and the rest of the specs follows like in AMDs...

Although i usually recommend intel, medyo hindi ako masaya kasi sa choices nitong PCX, una mahal nga(when compared to gilmore) and second luma din... ECS IMHO is not a good brand, kasi mabilis masira. ang gigabyte tinatawag na "motolite" kasi pang matagalan and kumbinsing!

kung internet, and minor applications lang like office apps, you might also be interested in this setup:

Processor+motherboard: Intel D945GCLF w/ Intel Atom ~ 3160
Memory: Transcend 2GB 800 ddr2 ~ 1630
Hard disk: 250Gb Seagate SATA ~ 2410
DVD_Rom: LG 22x GH22LS30 ~ 1500
Casing+powersupply: Zeal Ion with 180W power supply ~ 1390

The above setup is ok only for internet and office applications.
