Hi guys,

I started this thread to help everyone wanting a new computer. All you need to do is post the following:
Code:
budget:
usage:

other miscellaneous requirements:

*If to be used for gaming,. please indicate the games you wish to play.

The prices i will be using are those that come from major shops in gilmore and also PCexpress and others... The prices will only reflect that of which on the date of my post.

also please put your requests in this format:

Processor:
Motherboard:
RAM:

Video Card:

Hard Drive:
Optical Drive:

Power Supply:
Casing:

monitor:

Accessories:

please indicate (at least)the size of the hard disk desired, and also what you need/have/prefer.

Thanks.

How to get to Gilmore:
commuting... From EDSA get on the MRT to Cubao and take the other train and get off at Gilmore station. so easy.
driving... Via aurora is the easiest way from EDSA. anyway, just ask na lang cos i dunno where you'll be coming from.

An example post would be as follows:
Hi. Please help me buy a computer for my son. He will be using it mainly for school and some games. He likes to play Dota and L4D. Our budget for the PC would be 20K. We already have a printer, monitor and speakers. Our monitor is a 17" CRT monitor. My son said he prefers 1gb video card.

Thank you.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

@lament tama. thanks.

for 30K lets go AMD ok? kulang na kasi budget mo sa Intel.

ayan, nag over na ako. wala pa yan casing. mahirap ata pag quad core, hindi kaya. go na lang for dual core brisbane (Athlon X2 5400+ 2.8GHz 512kb L2 @ PhP4100)

All prices are taken from PChub except for video card which is available sa dynamic PC (tabi lang ng PChub gilmore)

This rig will dominate any app/game you put it up against. we can also opt for a lower model motherboard and video card but then it will defeat the purpose of the quad.

ehek...ang galing naman...salamat sa reply...

may idea na ako...hehe...

video card: Zotac 9600 GSO 6000

Those prices are just rough Estimates... It may vary depending on the locations..:D

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

Sa mga gustong mag build ng kanilang sariling SYMTEM UNIT (a.k.a CPU)

Heres my Rule of Thumb:
1. Select a BEST Power SUPPLY... IF posible don't settle for GENERICS... The heavier the PSU is, the better its quality...
2. In Choosing for Processors, Don't juct look at thier Closk SPEEDS, Check thier FSB and Cache Mems, the Higher, the better....
3. In Choosing for RAMS, makes sure that it is compatible with your Mobo... Also, the Speed of RAM must be equal or less than the FSB of the processor... To get a better Ratio....
4. Select a HDD with good Cache mems and SPEED.. At least 7200 RPM...
5. In selecting a PC Case, make sure that it contains at least 1 X 120mm Intkae fan or 2 X 80mm Intake Fan and At least 1 X 120mm Exhaust Fan for Better Ventilation...
6. In selecting for VCard Proc, NVIDIA or ATI, Consult your Budget, then select the Best one on that PRice Range... YOu can't go wrong with todays VCARD....:D

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

2. In Choosing for Processors, Don't juct look at thier Closk SPEEDS, Check thier FSB and Cache Mems, the Higher, the better....
disagree ako dito regarding cache. baka applicable lang to sa Intel. kasi sa AMD, ang windsor core 1MB L2 cache, sa brisbane 512 lang... but brisbanes perform far better than windsors in any case.

but good guide sir ryan. although some people cannot tell naman... paano kung sabihin ng tech sa store na 2mb yung cache ng E2140? 2mb naman talaga pero 2x1mb... so may panlilinlang din.

at least alam nila. also yung mga boards minsan ang FSB hindi pa kaya ang wolfdale/penryn without bios update... so mas maganda hindi sila maloloko kung papa-advise din sila. :D

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

uhm tinatamad ako tumingin ng per piece price pero kasi like i said, usually sa packages, naguubos lang sila ng lumang stock.

yang 945 na mobo na yan super outdated na, and also the 8500GT. kita mo naman sa 32K nakabuo ako quadcore na.

tama po si boss nybee, mas ok kapag isa-isa ung parts.. go for P35 around 4.5k / P31 na around 4k, at sa VC, hindi recommended ang 8500GT pag gaming ang built mo, go for 9500/9600GT or even 9800GT/3650 if kaya ng budget..

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

just to give you an idea, nung may asus p5g-mx(?) pa sa gilmore, 1800 to 2200 lang presyo nyan, sa mall 2500-3000 pa rin hanggang ngayon. Diyan nila inaaccount yun.

@STAT & nybee
Thanks.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

question. in buying a flat screen monitor ano dapat ang tingnan ko? may mga specs pa ba yan or pare pareho lang sila.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

question. in buying a flat screen monitor ano dapat ang tingnan ko? may mga specs pa ba yan or pare pareho lang sila.

"larger screen requires better VC":noidea:

hihihi..salamat sa mga comments...

ang kulet kasi nun eh...hehe!!!

thanks ulit...

sinabi ko lang un kasi for ex., 21" ang LCD mo and you're going to run graphics-hungry games like GTA/Biohazard/COD, better buy a VC kasi mahihirapan yan i-run ng IGP (correct me if i'm wrong).. hehe..

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

I seset mo lang sa lower resolution ung game para malaru mo sila ng maayus. Kahit sabihin natin 32" yang screen mo, iset mo sa 800x600 (kung square) ung resolution mo and your vc can almost play any game. Sana nga lang supported nung game ung resolution mo.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

actually, hindi pareparehas ang lahat ng 21" monitor. naka depend yan sa max resolution na output niya. like most CRT monitors output only 1280x1024, some more expensive ones at higher...

if i were you, I'd skip the 21" CRT monitor and opt for a 19" Wide LCD or kung kaya 22"... the difference is power consumption as CRTs are extremely power hungry when compared to a CRT. in a years time, yung difference nila sa presyo, natipid nyo na sa kuryente.

now this is where we examine how a video card is built.

kung 1280x1024 ang monitor mo, usually, 256MB should suffice. no need for 512 or higher(kahit ano pa sabihin ng game mo) to display at that level.
ang nagbabago lang ay ang memory type (DDR, DDR2, DDR3 or DDR5), clocks, Shader models and core/stream processors. only at higher resolutions 1600X1000 would you ever require 512MB to 1Gb of video card memory.

so look at shader model, memory type, clocks and stream processors in choosing a video card, not just memory amount.

HTH.

thanks for the suggestion, but i'm not having problems running any games.. :peace:
