[ADVISE] Help in Assembling/Building/Choosing/Upgrading Your Computer

Hi guys,

I started this thread to help everyone wanting a new computer. All you need to do is post the following:

budget:
usage:

other miscellaneous requirements:

*If to be used for gaming,. please indicate the games you wish to play.


The prices i will be using are those that come from major shops in gilmore and also PCexpress and others... The prices will only reflect that of which on the date of my post.

How to get to Gilmore:
commuting... From EDSA get on the MRT to Cubao and take the other train and get off at Gilmore station. so easy.
driving... Via aurora is the easiest way from EDSA. anyway, just ask na lang cos i dunno where you'll be coming from.

6K ~ 9800GT. be sure to get 55nm(Galaxy brand available, not palit)
5K ~ Radeon HD 3870 DDR3
5K ~ GF9600GT.

i don't understand what you mean by futureproof... kasi para sa akin, wala nun, pero if you mean you can still play on oin 3-4 years time, prolly get the 9800GT.

IMHO, mainstream parts, lowend/mid level/highend is where its the cheapest buys. go further, advanced tech...(skull trail, DDR3, SSD HDDs etc.. you pay the premium for exclusivity) and phased out(SDRAM or DDR, and you pay more due to scarcity of supplies)

no sorry, most new games require a video card with shader model 2.0, i believe the MX400 only has SM1.1. you can still sell that. sell it per piece or by the lot if you want, you'll probably get around 2000~3000 for everything.

sir san mo nakuha yang prices na yan? kung ganyan bka 9800GT na kunin ko..galing ako gilmore kahapon nasa 7-8k (di pla galaxy, ano po ba pinagkaiba ng Galaxy sa Inno2d o Palit? Mas familira kasi sakin Inno3d)...

sir ibig kung sabihin kung sa new set up na binigay mo malalaro ko na yung mga new games like COD4. parang mas ok pang bumili ng ps3 kaso wala yatang pirated cds nun.

kung may mabibili kang PS3 na 13K go for that. with less than 10K you can run COD4.

Processor: Athlon X2 4800+ ~ 3K
Motherboard: EMAXX 780G ~ 3.5K or EMAXX ANF82HD(GF8) ~ 3K
RAM: 2gb 800MHz ~ 2K

if you're not satisfied with the low settings, buy a 9500GT for 3K

you can run COD4 on this.

my spec as follows:
Athlon x2 5000+
2gb RAM
GF8200 chipset motherboard

i play COD4 no problems, yun nga lang medyo low settings pero pwede na. mas better yung EMaxx 780G kasi mas mabilis yun sa games. kung kayo nung akin, sigurado ako kaya ng emaxx 780G.

depende sa bibilhin mo sir, saan ka ba? PC hub sa sm fairview ba? ok dun, mura. hindi nga lang kumpleto. advise ko sa iyo, gawa ka ng tipidpc account and check mo prices nila doon. may instructions paano mo makuha yung discounted prices nila. tapos nun, punta ka doon, tanong mo yung stocks nila and i-compare mo sa specs na gusto mo. padala mo sa fairview from gilmore kung wala.

@boyangz sa SM fairview, meron dun PChub, sa gilmore ang main ng PChub. kung wala sa fairview hinahanap mo, sabihin mo dun sa staff sa pchub, ipadala galing gilmore.

bossing bigyan mo nga ako ng magandang spec. ng cpu ung quadcore ung processor wala kasi ako idea eh walang problema sa budget hindi naman sa akin eh

para sa akin ba to bossing eh kung quadcore naman na pinakamura lahat intel bossing ha salamas

question lang po. hindi related sa topic pero active yung thread. meron daw yung portable na soundcard para sa mga laptop, meron din kaya sa videocard? kasi yung laptop ko P4 3.0ghz 1gb RAM kaso yung videocard 32mb lang kaya wla din akong malarong games dito, hehehe.

saka pala @OhNow3P bat hindi naman nung mga comp tech dito yung mga part na sinabi mo. ano ba yung buong name nun? for gaming purposes keep it under 10k. salamat.

ewan ko sa tech mo, malamang behind sa technology yang mga yan. 10K gaming? buo? malabo yata masyado. kung processor+motherboard+ram pwede pa siguro.


meron din USB na video card, yun nga lang, RARE ito at hindi capable ng directdraw, so hindi mo rin mapapang-games. ang use lang ng current USB video cards is for additional display outputs.in all my experience, hindi pa ako nakakakita nyan

hindi naman buo may desktop naman ako for upgrade lang. ano ba maganda athlon or pentuim? base sa performance?

pero malamang socket 478 lang yan, so wala ka masasalba jan maliban lang sa hard disk mo.

for under 10K

RAM 2x1gb DDR2 800MHz ~ 2K (team elite or geil)

buy a PSU, i think the HEC Raptor 500W is around 2.5K. and casing is under 1000(no power supply unit)sell your old parts na lang to make the difference. your whole PC should be priced around 3K, minus the hard disk... so ayun, sakto... 10K+3K = 13K, the budget for the spec i gave you, or you could opt for a generic case and power supply(1500) to net you the 10K you want, which i am really not in favor for.
