Hi guys,

I started this thread to help everyone wanting a new computer. All you need to do is post the following:
Code:
budget:
usage:

other miscellaneous requirements:

*If to be used for gaming,. please indicate the games you wish to play.

The prices i will be using are those that come from major shops in gilmore and also PCexpress and others... The prices will only reflect that of which on the date of my post.

also please put your requests in this format:

Processor:
Motherboard:
RAM:

Video Card:

Hard Drive:
Optical Drive:

Power Supply:
Casing:

monitor:

Accessories:

please indicate (at least)the size of the hard disk desired, and also what you need/have/prefer.

Thanks.

How to get to Gilmore:
commuting... From EDSA get on the MRT to Cubao and take the other train and get off at Gilmore station. so easy.
driving... Via aurora is the easiest way from EDSA. anyway, just ask na lang cos i dunno where you'll be coming from.

An example post would be as follows:
Hi. Please help me buy a computer for my son. He will be using it mainly for school and some games. He likes to play Dota and L4D. Our budget for the PC would be 20K. We already have a printer, monitor and speakers. Our monitor is a 17" CRT monitor. My son said he prefers 1gb video card.

Thank you.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

@ohnow3p

AMD platform:
Processor - AMD athlon 64x2 4600+ P 2,800.
Motherboard - MSI K9N Neo-F nForce550/DDR2/PCIe/sata 3,150.
Video Card - Inno3D GF8500GT 512 DDR2 128bit 2,200.
RAM - 1GB PC5300 DDR2-667 800.

Intel :
Processor - Intel Dual Core E2200 2.20Ghz 800mhz P 3,630.
Motherboard - Asus P5N SLI PCIe/DDR2/Sound/LAN 2,300.
Video Card & RAM the same as above...

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

ask your tech to change your board to a GeForce7 board and skip the video card muna. see how it plays your games then buy a 9500GT video card for 3K.

also, i think 2gb should be the minimum for current PC setups right now.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

i see, thanks sa info change ko nalang yung mobo. balak ko din 2gb ang RAM.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

@ohnow3p

this is what i decided to get

Intel Dual Core E2200 2.20Ghz 800mhz P 3,630
GF7 nforce 610i 2,000
GF 9500GT, 256MB DDR3 3,000 optional
2gb RAM 2,000

any comment?

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

i don't know. maybe.. maybe hindi makapage file ng maayos laptop mo kasi medyo defective na ang hard disk.

kung hindi ka naman overclocker though, i'd recommend an AMD over intel, i don't think malaki mababago sa setup mo.

anyway, good luck redwing.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

procie: intel Q6600 Quad Core 2.4GHz (inde nka OC)
mobo: MSI?NEO P31
Vidcard: 512mb palit GEForce 7300GT 128 bit
RAM: 2X 1GB kingston DDR2 PC667
HDD: 80GB Seagate SATA 7200rpm
ODD: liteon 20X DVDRW lightscribe SATA
generic PS-WTF??? i know...

bale nabuo ko to last feb,2008

thanks in advance sa insights bro!
maintain mo tong thread mo ha!

bullet!

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

Bro, sa VCard ka lang problematic... Aside from that, since naka Quad Core ka, I suggest to get an Aftermarket na CPU Cooler para mas magiging Stable ang Closk Speed ng Proc mo..

Then with regards sa PSU, kung tight budget ka, go for Gigabyte SuprB 550P, around 2.5K lang yata.. This is based sa experience ko... Pero kung may extra money, like 3.5K above, go for HEC Winpower 550UB...

@ALL:

Kung gusto mga-upgrade ng existing PC nyo, Upgrade first your PSU...:D

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

@masaya ok na, next upgrade mo PSU.

@bullet oo get a PSU. then a video card.

ask nybee on the HEC RAptor, mura lang yun, maganda pa. yun ding mga FSP mura din yun at true rated.... either of the two is fine.check lang your consumption using psu calculator lite (google nyo na lang), when you get your total power requirements, get a TRUE RATED PSU that will run your rig at around 60-80%

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

what you mean anong branch? you mean store? either PChub or pcoptions, pero kung ako sa iyo sa PChub sa fairview ka na lang(kung mas malapit nga yun sa iyo) kasi sayang sa pamasahe at parehas lang nman presyo.

pangalan nung store papi is PC HUB

@redwing

Plus in time a power supply unit loses its power with capacitor aging, kung hindi maganda ang power suply mo, in 3 years time yung 230W baka nga 100W na lang.

take as an example generic power supplies. they advertise 500W, but they only produce 200~230W, less than half. tapos they have what you call noise that distorts the delivery of power, although it doesn't lessen the wattage, power delivery at a point is intermittent, which causes ram deterioration, hard disk failures and the like.

a good power supply, such as corsair, enermax, will give you a true rated wattage, with less noise for around 5 years, ensuring everything you put into your PC will be protected from these undesirables and will last longer.

remember, a power supply unit is different from an AVR and a UPS.

This advise goes for all of you reading this thread, sana maisip ninyo mag upgrade/maginvest ng power supply, para mabawasan din gastos and problema ninyo.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

Bro Monyo:

I mean, yung competitive parin ang performance in terms of game support 3~4 years from now under normal usage?

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose a Computer

@bullet
GTX 260 is a good buy, or Radeon HD 4870.
