Chess Thread

Hehe.

Kasi race to 10 wins. Hehehe.

If I remember correctly,he has the record for most tournament wins.

^ True. I think he went on to establish a major record in that tournament that still stands today (not sure of this last, so anybody can correct me). Nakakatawa pa before this performance he did miserably in the previous iteration. From that terrible feat the place itself earned a bad reputation in his books. With his latest record win, Cuba suddenly became one of the best places on Earth for him. Haha.

But I believe his frequent brushes with Karpov helped him a lot too. Fischer could have made the three of them royalties in the chess world then. Ang nangyari Fischer contented himself rambling from the sidelines and accusing Kasparov of benefiting from his published works. Sayang talaga.

Interestingly I know lifetime lamang ata ni Kasparov kay Karpov is a measly 1 or 2 points. Too inconsequential. I wonder how it would have been if Karpov were still in his prime when the two started to tangle swords with each other. Hehe.

To be fair thought, Kasparov is not in his prime nung mga naunang matches nila ni Karpov. But they will always be hard opponents para sa isat isa.

Yeah. His presence could have move chess to an even greater heights. Baka nakakita tayo ng Kasparov, Karpov at Fischer rivalries. Parang Federer, Nadal at Djokovic ng tennis. Hehe.

Sino si Federer, Nadal, tsaka Djoko kina Fischer, Kasparov, tsaka Karpov? :)

Same for Federer....

Wesley So is doing well so far at the currently ongoing Baku Chess Olympiad.
