OTHERS Petition for removing data capping in Philippines

Good news guys. Jack Ma, chinese billionaire, criticized Phil's internet. We can use this. My suggestion is we construct a proper petition before posting at change.org. We should brainstorm so we could construct a very effective petition.

Yeah, that guy. Could you help me construct a petition? The ones I was invited to sign are properly constructed and convincing so I think that's part of the reason why it garnered that much attention. I'm not confident that I can construct an effective petition by myself coz I haven't done this kind of thing before so I want everyone's help before posting a petition on Change.org

Tsaka madami telcos like here in KSA kaya kumpetensiya.

Do you guys know Change.org? If you don't, it's a site where people file for a petition and seek signatures to garner attention about an issue. I don't know if you guys saw this on news but there was an issue 2 years ago when Canadian containers full of garbage were dumped here in the Philippines. People filed a petition on Change.org and I received an e-mail about it asking me to sign. I signed and months and tens of thousands of signatures later the petition garnered attention and an article about the petition was written on the news paper. After that, it garnered more attention and got on TV news. In the end, many politicians got the news and the Canadian ambassador was forced to make an action. I do not know if the issue was solved but maybe if we can make a noise this loud we can force these fucking TelCos and NTC to remove data capping here in Phil. It's not enough for these money mongers that internet here in our country is shitty at best they even added a limit at how much we can use it. These fuckers report BILLIONS of revenue when their service is god awful.

IIRC, the petition I told you about only got about 50,000 signatures. If we can gather a million or more signatures, we can get our voices be heard and maybe get a solution to the problem one way or another. Luckily, Change.org can be shared on FB and other social media sites so you can get the news out much faster. Also, Duterte already expressed he will allow foreign TelCo investors so we can get better internet service here in Phil so there's already interest in the government side for a change.

What do you guys think?

PS : I don't want to be the one who will make the petition though but definitely count me in on signing and getting the word out :ashamed:

I agree, you can count me in and once the petition is filed I can help spreading it with others..

kahit magpetitisyon wala parin pumapansin like nung nag issues sila nang capping sa HomeBro last 2013 unless kung may magpasa ulit sa senado he he he

Rank, Country, %above 10mbps, QoQ Change, YoY Change
1 South Korea 85% 3.1% 1.7%
3 Japan 73% 1.0% 11%
4 Singapore 72% -2.1% 9.8%
5 Thailand 72% 26% 83%
6 Hong Kong 71% 1.0% 8.1%
15 Taiwan 65% 9.9% 14%
31 New Zealand 52% 17% 60%
48 Vietnam 37% 48% 656%
50 Australia 35% 16% 54%
52 Malaysia 32% 17% 179%
62 China 20% 84% 880%
64 India 19% 30% 285%
68 Indonesia 18% 22% 496%
78 Philippines 11% 53% 330%
– Sri Lanka 22% 54% 399%

This is a healthy conversation, now kung nagpapaka-squatter ka sa salitaan, walang problema sa akin.

The thing is, umasa siya na on time ang bills kapag naubos na yung limit mo..

HAHAHAHA

RESPONSIBILIDAD DIN NG GLOBE NA DAPAT UPDATE SILA NG UPDATE GAYA NG MGA SPAM NILA NA PURO UPDATE PARA NAMAN DI MAGKARON NG NAPAKALAKING BILL ANG CUSTOMER HAHAHAHA. BANGGITIN MO NAMAN RESPONSIBILIDAD NG TELCO HINDI PURO SA CUSTOMER HAHAHAHA

MADALI IDISPUTE? Ilan naba nADISPUTE MO SA TELCO? Baka iilan lang HAHAHAHA KUNG MADALI YAN WALA NAKO IPOPOST DITO HAHAHAHAHA sa DAMI NG PROBLEMA O PANLOLOKO NG GLOBE NAKO DI LAHAT MADALI, Madami diyan san san ka ifoforward ng CUSTOMER REP at KHIT PUMUNTA KA NG GLOBE STORES papipilahin kalang AT KAHIT KAUSAPIN MO MANAGER WALANG GAGAWIN SA PROBLEMA MO HAHAHAH

Bwisit talaga internet sa Pilipinas. Isang linggo nanamang nawala yung internet namin. As the others implied, I think the title I made up, removing the data cap, would not be as powerful when we put it in the petition. We should petition for a change. It could be higher data capping and/or faster speeds and/or lower prices and/or foreign investors entering the internet market. Just petitioning for one thing could mean the petition could be dumped all at once if it failed but if we petition for a change, the other things we petitioned for could go into fruition. So I think it will be better that way

Internet in the Philippines has been one of the worst in Asia for a very long time. Two of the TelCo giants, Globe and PLDT, has dominated the internet market for a long time now. Once, there were competitions but they were bought out by these TelCo giants. Internet in the Philippines is like a luxury. Prices are very high yet very slow compared to the rest of the world. Worse, one of the TelCo giants, Globe, enforces data capping in all of it's services except it's most expensive plans. If you will question their customers or even visit their facebook pages, you will see angry unstatisfied customers but their customers are forced to stick with them because they bought out their competitors. Slow internet, unstable connection or atrocious customer service. These are the things that you will see getting complained about on their social media pages for years and yet they remain unsolved after so many years. Bayan, a small TelCo company, which offered unlimited internet plans and had good customer service was bought out by Globe and since then the services of the said company plummeted. Just last year(or two years I can't remember. Tell me guys when it was again), a foreign investor wanted to enter the internet market so these giants will have competition but it was bought out by PLDT and just this October this year, the court decided that it was legal for PLDT to buy out the upcoming competitor. Now, internet users in the Philippines is forced to stick with these greedy TelCo giants again.

Jack Ma, a billionaire from China, criticized the current state of internet services here in the Philippines for being one of the slowest in Asia. We were happy that not only the Filipinos are frustrated with how the internet is here in the Philippines. (add more here)

We would like you to sign this petition to make a change on how internet services are here in the Philippines. Change the snail slow speed and the luxury-like high prices.

This is the one I thought up for a few minutes. I want your feedback guys. Add something or change it and we can brainstorm what we should post in the petition.
