Bad birthday gift para kay Nakamura as he lost to Wesley in round 1. :D

Hikaru Nakamura vs Wesley So
London Chess Classic (2016)

http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1848808

Tough luck. And Nakamura drew his next game with Giri.

Meanwhile So won against Adams and breaks the 2800 rating barrier for the first time, climbing to 11th in the highest ratings all-time with 2803.2.

I hope Nakamura, Giri, Caruana, and So play a long time and all became world champions while giving us great games to remember. This group is just a cut above the rest right now.

Nakamura and Giri regressed on their play. They are ranked 9th and 10th respectively.Maybe it is only temporary set back for them. I am impressed that Krammnik is world number 4 right now ,while Anand is world number 8.

But yeah, So,Nakamura,Giri,Caruana at MVL and papalit sa generation nila Anand,Topalov, Krammnik at Aronian.

Gang saan kaya pinakamataas niya madadala rating niya? :)

Topalov mentioned before that he does not work on his game anymore. I guess Topalov does not train as hard as he used to do. At elite level, training hard is necessary.

The real test for Wesley So will be against his last 3 opponents. Sila Kramnik, Caruana and MVL ang huling tatlo na makakalaban niya. Lahat sila ay above 2800.

I guess at Topalov's age it's hard to imagine he could still launch a decent attempt at a world title. Perhaps he's going the way of Short, content na lang being on the margins of mainstream ubercompetitive chess.

Let's see how he'll manage.

Day 8 Round up

Yep he did it. Nanalo rin si Topalov sa last round.

Giri finishing with 9/9 draws. Not much of a chance for Giri to join the Grand Chess Tour next year. In a conspicuously relaxed attitude, Giri said, he would have to seek out for a life on the streets next year, playing with the hustlers. Or play some other tournaments. Should help to work on his street fighting spirits.

puro immigrants representing the US ang nanalo sa top 3 ng grand prize: So, Nakamura, Caruana

Now So is getting the kind of money na makakatulong sa kanya. Di na kailangan ampunin ni Pacman.

sabi ni topa may bagong anak sya kc ngaun kaya napupuyat daw sya, pero kailangan nya talaga ng matinding preparation.at least nanalo sya sa last rd at nagkaroon ulit sya ng moral boost

baka bumabawi pa ng lakas kaya ultraconservative ang laro, haha. dati may mga stats available ang player ng percentage ng wins/loss/draws sa total games nila. wonder if this kind of table/stats is still available now. nabasa ko dati si fischer ang may pinakamataas na win percentage from total games played. di ko alam kung nalampasan na yung record niya, for example ni kaspa.

According sa chessgames.com, Capa has the highest winning percentage. HEHE.

Anyway, at club level this Halloween Gambit is a good surprise weapon sa blitz.

Grabe yung blitz rating ni Magnus, 2914, di pa ata nagchampion yun sa last world championship event...?

http://www.lazada.com.ph/shop-books/gambit-books/

Marami silang tactics book. For club level okay iyung Giant Chess Puzzle book at Jon Speelman's Chess Puzzle Book. For beginner, okay iyung Learn Chess Tactics by GM Nunn. Aside from studying endgames and strategies, importante din ang tactical study para ma reduce ang tactical blunders ninyo(losing a piece for nothing or getting mated without noticing the proper defense) at ma improve ang calculating ability.

Unlike me, buro, hehe.
