Hahaha! Parehas lang tayo; ngayon daig mo na ako, di pa rin ako nagkakaron ng chess clock, analog or digital. Meron naman kase sa iba or sa mga venues ng events na pinaglalaruan ko dati. Ang gusto ko kolektahin yung mga unique chessboards and pieces, problema matutulog lang sa bahay yun gaya ng mga typical chessboards ko di na nagagamit. Parang sa Glorietta ata may nakita ako dati shop ng unique chessboards, di ko alam kung meron pa ngayon.

Hirap sa mga bata ngayon, puro nasa cp ang interes. Mapagitara or chess mahirap gisingin ang interes nila. Nakakatuwa lang yung mga kabataan nakikita mo nagpupursige sa real hobbies and games.
 
Sana maging maayos palakad sa chess career nung Alekhine Nouri. Mukhang may potential nga. Seven years old, youngest FIDE Master. Masama na naman tingin diyan ng US Chess Federation, haha. Alekhine pa talaga pangalan. Malupet kung may tatapat ulit na Capa, hehe. Reincarnation. :lol:

Hataw rating ni Wesley, third currently, 10th all-time. Mukhang maganda rin chance sa ongoing Tata Masters.

di na lang sagutin ni pacman philippine chess,tutal mukhang may interest sya sa field.wala na aasahan sa kalakaran ng phil chess. kung di lumabas si So I doubt mararating nya narating nya ngayon. ubos oras, utak nya mired in politics and begging for support. 7th currently all-time rating si So with good chances to get higher.
 
@Stormer- Ang bata kapag naturuan ng maayos sa chess at may mga nakakalaban din siya na human, usually they appreciate and love chess. May potential nga iyung Nouri.

Solo lead ngaun si Wesley sa Tata Steel. Hehe.

Jurassic World tong lugar ko pagdating sa chess, kaya hirap sa exposure ang bata sa chess dito, haha. Buti pa sa Gapan, Nueva Ecija sa isang barkada ko dun. But that was before, di ko na rin alam ngayon. Yung lugar ni Wesley sa Cavite dati napupuntahan ko, marami talaga magaling dun. Fertile ground for chess talaga. May ilan ako nakakalaro dati dun (with bets minsan), palaban kahit mga teens.

Maganda chance ni Wesley, di na gaanong mahirap pati mga kasunod makakalaban niya. May chance sya ungusan si Caruana for second. Heck, kung tuloy-tuloy no-loss games ni So (currently 53), baka maghimala pa lampasan si Carlsen midway this year. Laki din kase ng binaba sa FIDE rating ni Carlsen lately. Big question is, of course, can So actually launch a serious challenge to the crown of Carlsen??

Second na sa world ranking si So, after his recent win and Caruana's loss to Short. Good for 6th all time, replacing Anand.

Paano na ba ang selection process ngayon sa World Championship candidates matches?

Hindi ata current and ranking pinakita ng chess.com, hehe. Anyway, can't wait to have the event start. Malalaman natin diyan kung may K na si So sa trono ni Carlsen. Mabreak kaya ang highest-rating event by the time magstart yan?

If Wesley So won't join world cup(another qualifier), he needs to maintain his number two ranking to qualify. Wesley did not join the grandprix tournament qualifier. May mga tournament yata sinalihan si Wesley So bago ang world championship candidates. Wesley needs to maintain his world number two rating.
 
Mukhang mahirap maintain yang #2 ranking, within striking distance pa rin si Caruana. Anyway either of them deserves a shot at Carlsen naman.

Tagal ng pahinga sa chess world. Parang Dragon Ball Super, extended rest. :)
