How to make your own home solar. With Pictures + solar book

Re: How to make your own home solar. With Pictures + solar b

yup... pag 40 Ah bat, ok na for the 12 watts fan, it can run the whole night... you will need a 50 watt solar minimum... a 10 amp controller will be ok.
For the batteries, I'm not sure that it was ok to add the solution... I think distilled water lang was ok!

pa subs po ts. salamat

Re: How to make your own home solar. With Pictures + solar b

ganon bah...50 watts hindi ba pwede 20 to 30 watts? kun 20 or 30 tas direct kulang panel ko sa battery tas time to time i checheck ko sa digital tester?...ok lang ba yun.....

the bigger the battery the more panel watts you need, if you use a controller! yes pwede 20 watt panel if you don't use a controller... but you must monitor talaga with the tester and stop the panel at night otherwise the electricity will go back from the batteries to the panel. The best is to put a heavy duty switch or an old fuse box (see sa 1rst page) between the panel and the batteries... for your installation, use only #10 wire (even #8 pwede)

question lang nung bago ba yung battery niyo? kayo naglagay ng sulfuric acid?? ang hirap kasi mag lagay yung container niya hard yung plastic.. nalagyaan pa ako sa kamay../.

babalik parin ba yung current kapag direct panel to battery kahit may dioddes na yung panels>?

... yung one and only motolite solar master 100Ah ko ay door to door delivery... yung delivery boy ang naglagay ng sulfuric acid.

... kung may diode na ang panel, dapat hindi na babalik ang current from the battery to panel... paniniguro lang ang switch.

in my opinion blocking diodes block current from passing so if the diode is connected with in the panel current still can pass through the wires and stop there (if your wires are long a lot of current will pass there) but with a controller equipped with a feature that wont permit to pass current back to the panels only a minimum amount because the wire is short from battery to controller. so if no controller is used it is more wise to disconnect panels from the batteries at night....:)

It is already an indication that certain battery is overcharged considering that it is always on the float charge state for how many months or maybe even a year. emergency lights are always connected in the AC line. But anyways it is worth a try if you can revive those batts.

Tama si Sir Bongalzate sa taas about the diodes... that's why if you don't use a controller you need a switch instead!

In case you put sulfuric acid on your hands (but you should wear gloves) apply right away vinegar, not water... the vinegar will neutralize the acid (also good for any kind of acid like muriatic or caustic soda -lye-) but as said Tristan, it should be done sa Motolite pag brand new!

they may be dead or not... you must try first to fill one with water ("absolute" brand, green) and then try to charge it... pag charge na, wait one day and check if it keeps the charge...

i cannot say! Is your bat very old? did you check if there is still water inside? How many watts is the solar panel you used to charge it? Maybe it was not charged enough... do you have a tester?

or maybe there is a short circuit in the vehicle wirings that discharges the battery

Right! could be grounded!

@ quark

Try a small solar project muna:

P300 lang. I bought that from another seller at P350. Ok naman sa usage. No problem din pag later on sira na battery.
Nakakabili naman ng replacement.

still a long way before i can finish reading this thread. im at 35/169. hahaha

indeed, mam awinahe is very helpful in answering the queries of those who are planning to set up this solar project.

i will try this one mam if i have the money to spare. thanks for the suggestion

Re: How to make your own home solar. With Pictures + solar b

The grid is out in my location and I have not even noticed it thats the advantage of having this solar system I can do most of my daily routine even without the grid!!!! I am proud I have one! just noticed it when I went to our family house 3 blocks away when I noticed those groceries I passed by are firing their generator sets. Lucky for me I have an alternative and most of all its free and environmentally friendly!!!!!

hahaha! I know the feeling... it happens to me at least once a week... My neighbors are always envious because they can see the tv and lights on at night when it's brownout  ... Aside from my bill down by 75%, that's really what I appreciate with solar power: no more brownout and earth friendly pa!

Re: How to make your own home solar. With Pictures + solar b

Tama kaya Sir at Ma'm,

Laking tulong ang solar.

As community service....dapat mag lagay na kayo ng sign sa labas: "Want TV and lights during brownout ? Ask me how...."
May sideline na kayo..... :-)
